Josh Rouse
I don't know if you guys are listening to him, but his music just FITS in my life. I love it. He has a few albums out:

Nashville is by far my favorite but it's also the only one I own.

His new album, Subtitulo, came out yesterday. I suggest that everyone head on over to iTunes and check out.

I know so little about Josh as an artist, I'd love to hear anything you guys know about him.

p.s. Many thanks to Laurel for introducing me to Josh's music.

Oh well, what a great surprise! I LOVE Josh Rouse!

I guess I first fell for him because of Nashville, which is an outstanding album. It led me to his previous work and to Subtitulo as well.

There's something about his latest album that makes me not satisfied. Few songs, short songs, can't really put my finger on it. I'd still pick Nashville over any of his work, but his music, old and new, is worth checking out. Josh Rouse knows how to find that little spot into your mindset - a spot you yourself had no idea about - and make it his very home.

*slaps forehead* That's another great artist I may never see live but I have the most serious appreciation for! You better check his tour dates and have a drink on behalf of your Brazilian friend if you ever get to see him play, uh? :rollin

love,
Karina

Ahh, Karina! If only I could head down to Austin to see him...I really need a concert buddy.

I know what you mean. It's like there just isn't enough meat. It leaves you wanting more. Nashville is the heartiest meal in my opinion as well. I love it. Can't get enough.

Topping because I've been thinking about Josh today since John mentioned him in his blog. Wondering what the outcome will be.

If more people discover his music, that won't be a bad thing. Just might be a surge of weirdos liking him cause John does.

I've got a couple of his albums, but I haven't listened to them in ages (and I haven't located them since the move). Tempted to dig them out, thanks to the reminder... but I may just wait until mid-November. That just seems like a better time for listening to him.

Re: Josh!
Yes, some of his music definitely feels like Fall.

"Summertime" off Subtitulo was my anthem in July.

Gosh, he has so many great tunes.

I need to go to iTunes and finally download Under Cold Blue Stars.

That's an album that I have. I also have 1972... can't remember if I picked up Nashville or not. I picked up so many CDs before I left for the Tundra, I honestly don't know what I have anymore.

JOSH IS OPENING FOR JOHN MAYER!

...just wanted to freak out again. Haha!

I can't believe I'm going to see them both.

"Saturday" just came on my Launchcast and it made me think of February and the coming joy :)

Edited to add that I did indeed go to iTunes but I ended up finding the album John was talking about...and it included "Neighborhoods"... a song I had wondered about for a while. It was on his MySpace before Subtitulo was out and I was obsessed with it. I had no clue it was out there for purchase! Dammit. Haha. Oh well, I have it now.

Oh boy, it's been a long time since I last lurked, even longer since I last posted. I've been quite away from the message board world, especially distant from John blogs and downloads. It's not a good thing, it's not a bad thing, it's just the way life goes. Actually, in my case, it's been a good thing. Very good.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy I stopped by and reached this WONDERFUL piece of news! Josh and John together. This shall be grand! Great for all of you who get to see two amazing artists on the same stage on the same night. Jeez, you're lucky!!! ;)

You go and have a ball, uh?

love,
Karina

Karina! I have missed you!! I am glad to hear you've been away and happy. That's fabulous. Come back after these future shows and get the tapes, OK?
