Like what colors are you putting in your hopechest? I'm aiming for blue check, wildflowers, and bears in the kitchen. I haven't figured out the rest of the house yet What about y'all? I haven’t decided really what color scheme I would like for each room in the house, because I figure I might change my mind, and you never know what colors might be in the house already! However, I think blue and yellow might be nice for a kitchen, so I have a few things in those colors, but I’m mostly just trying to have colors that would work anywhere. In our house, we have some general color schemes for the main rooms (living room and family room) and the bathrooms, but the kitchen is nothing in particular! I also like a somewhat country theme, but who knows…! Have a wonderful day! Most of my dishes, pictures, canisters, etc are in the country blue check. I've collected this stuff for a while and haven't changed my mind yet I'm glad too because blue check is usually pretty easy to find. I also have a nice collection of rose pattern dishes and pottery that has been given to me. I hopeing to use them both . Your "prince charming" might have a say in how to decorate your future home. I think we should stick to getting basic stuff (like rubber spatulas, wooden spoons, ect...) which he probably won't care as much about. Do any of you recieve AEW? We just got our the other day and there is a really good artcle in there about HopeChests and the like. You should take the time to read it if you get AEW or if not I think someone here offered to type it up. I haven't really put alot of things into my hopechest that aren't basic and usable in any home. However, I do have ideas for my future home. Not to say that these are set in concrete, but... I do like to think sometimes about how i'd personally like my home to look! grin As far as the kitchen. I've always wanted it in cobalt blue, and yellow check with sunflowers and white pewter looking dishes--OR-- I also love the blue speckled tin dishes. I* haven't really thought a WHOLE lot about the rest of the house. I want an old fashioned country look-i do know that! You can make most houses take on that look! smile Well, I like reading what you girls have written. I don't think it's wrong to dream... just don't get too caught up in it, and set everything in concrete in your mind-because often times-it doesn't always turn out that way!! It's been neat to see all of your replies, girls Don't worry, I'm not setting my heart steadfastly on my themes. I know anything can happen, and he may not even like what I like. But, I think it's good to have a flexible idea of some sort concerning what you want, becuz I've seen too many brides who went nuts trying to decide what they wanted in the house, and their grooms weren't much better off My own sister-in-law had a time trying to figure out what all she wanted.
