Just bought a 1970RR, need mod advice
I just bought a 1970 RR. I was wondering what are some good things to do for modifications? I want at least a mid 12 second car, preferably high 11s. It is a 383 auto, with the 727 tranny. I also have a 2000 LS1 Camaro. I made it a mid 11 second car with just a heads/cam package but am pretty sure that the RR will take a lot more to get to those times, plus it will not be near as streetable. I want the car to be semi streetable, but not stalling or surging all the time to find its idle. I am not familiar whatsoever with mopar or the RR but know some stuff about motors. So whats a good start, keep the current heads and port/polish with new valves? A new cam, some gears and a stall converter? Also, what headers are u guys mainly running? Are there any cheap mods or free mods that can gain me some power and torque? Any info will be great. I am trying to get acquainted with the new ride.
Thanks!
Well, I am building a 431 stroker engine for my 69 Runner. 383 block bored .030", 440 Crank with the mains turned down to 383 main size and custom Diamond pistons. Edlebrock aluminum heads, DH4B aluminum intake, Aluminum water pump and housing. I am shooting for 11's myself.
