KICK DOWN LINKAGE HELP!
Hello Fellow RR owners!

The is my first post and I was wondering if someone out there can help me learn more about the kick down linkage installation. Obviously it runs between the tranny and carbs but just how I don't know.

I have the complete KICK DOWN LINKAGE, a 440/tunnelram, 2 holley 600's, 727 automatic. A solid linkage connects both carbs to the throttle cable bracket.

As you can see I know little to nothing about the installation or actual function of this part. PLEASE HELP?

Thanks!
Jimi

Re: KICK DOWN LINKAGE HELP!
hey,

i'm going through the same thing....

i would think there would be some fabrication of special pieces for the kickdown on a tunnel ram setup. i'm putting a hemi w/indy singleplane in my road runner and i bought a kickdown cable from mancini racing.....it seems to be a much easier install than trying to piece everything together.

i'll be able to post more in a week or so :)

Re: KICK DOWN LINKAGE HELP!
Hi
I've always found that the factory KD limkage works great with factory intake manifolds ... but with aftermarket manifolds, it becomes a challenge. A tunnel ram with the factory KD linkages is gonna be a tough one.

We all know how important having the KD linkage working properly is ... so either way ya gotta make it happen. Perhaps the best solution will be to switch over to me new cable aftermarket set up.

I installed one on a friends car a while ago and the thing works slick. Can't remember who makes it, but I can find out. Perhaps an advertisment might be listed in MCG, or Mopar Muscle?

E-mail me direct if I don't post back to this message with a supplier's name. But honestly ... I think this is the only way you're going to make your KD work on that tunnel ram.

Re: KICK DOWN LINKAGE HELP!
It looks like the aftermarket KD Linkage is going to be the way to go. I just wish i didn't spend $75 bucks on the original one i just bought.

I will search the web for a KD Linkage supplier but if any one could recommend a good company please let me know.

Thanks for your post!
Jim
