Low Disk Space
I have a SONY PCV-RZ22G with Windows XP Home Version. Physical hard disk is 80 GB divided into Drive C and Drive D. Drive C is 20 GB and Drive D is 60 GB. Keep getting message "Low disk space on Drive C". Drive D has 40 GB free. I have removed all I do not need on Drive C and still get the 'low disk' message. I want to expand Drive C (volume) and make it 40 GB instead of 20 GB. Use 20 GB from Drive D and 'just' add it to Drive C. How do I do that? Is there a procedure or process on Windows XP to do this?

Re: Low Disk Space
You can move files from your C: drive to the D: drive. You can also use your D: drive to install new apps on so that C: won't grow too fast.

If you really want to re-partition the disk then you would need a third-party tool like Partition Magic. XP can do it but you'll lose drive D:.

Hope this helps,

Re: Low Disk Space
It could be that System Restore is taking your disk space.

Could also be a corrept file system and it is incorrectly displaying the disk space.
Do a Scandisk. Right-Click the drive in My Computer and select Properties, then goto the Tools tab.
YOu can run the Scan / Check disk from here.
