Madoria's Childhood Sindys.
Hi !

I have been to Gothenburg to visit my brother and I found a Sindy - I belive from the 80ies and Pedigree.

She has an workout outfit in purple and purple / opink stripes... no shoes ...

Well, I played with both Sindy and Barbie in the 70ies.

I had some Sindy Dolls as a Child:
Edit to add pics: ( From net , not mine)

1976:
Lovely Lively Sindy (Blond) ,
So Active ( Ballerina with Purple tutu, Blond.)
and Funtime Sindy (Auburn).

1978:
Weekender Sindy (Blond).

Unfortunatly I had lost the Ballerina doll and one of the others as I only have 2 basic bodies and one blond head and one Auburn head left. Both longer hair and parted in the middle.

I had some furniture and some clothes aswell and an extra pack of shoes and boots.

Sorry no pics as I don't have a camera.

But here is some links:

So , now I am curious - has anybody else played with Sindy in the 70ies ?

Susanne:D

Edited to add:
This looks like the bed I had, I still have mattress and sheets and pillow and bedspread. The lamptable has no lamp but has all 4 legs at least ... that is more than the mirror table has... sigh... the little stool is ok.

And some of my Outfits:

My friend had a Sindy, but we never played with her, because she is so much bigger than Daisy. She also had Sindys closet, that she used for Daisy :)
Back then I did not like Sindy much, but I have come to like her, so I am trying to look for her, when I am at flea markets and such :)

You know she is quite cheap in fleamarkets -
people think she is not worth anything...
So I find Dolls for very low amounts that a in great condition.
It is harder to find shoes.

I have never found a sindy at a flea market yet, if I had I would have picked her up :)

Re: Madoria's Childhood Sindys.
I have actually seen so many I have passed by befor I started to collect Dolls in the early 90ies.

I have several 80ies Sindys from Pedigree and a few from Hasbro - even 2 from 1987 that has a very special look, still the Pedigree body but another face. 1988 dolls is another body and smaller head.
I rememeber one in particulary beeing sold for 5 SEK and she was fresh and had panties , a skirt (white) and a blue blouse and black belt on !
I also have found 1985 Sindy premiere - here Dress is missing the bottom rufflen + jewelery and such, but her hairdo is the right one.
One off the most recent ones I found is also in her original workout outfit in purple and one earpin.
Stardance from 1984 - so now I am looking for her pale pink shoes.

So I have found 10 blondes , mostly 80ies soft head ones, and 2 blackhaired ( one very cut). 5 off them is in quite great condition and then I have some that can do with a little TLC. I also have a doll that has the name Fleur in her
backhead - vey similar body to Sindy.
My own dolls from the mid 70ies has the harder head.

I think she is very cute and more natural looking than Barbie is , Daisy is also very sweet looking!
