Marilyn Manson at Braehead, Glasgow
I had to tell everyone how good this show was. I've just flown back. The gig was last night. It was brilliant. Pure theatre and rock at its majestic best. They had a couple of contortionist/dancer/stripper girls writhing all over the stage, he had costume changes, make up changes, scene changes, a podium and a machine which raises him up and makes it appear as though his legs are growing (like the granny in George's Marvellous Medicine). It was superb. He was doing this whole Papa Lazarou-Willy Wonka-Mickey Mouse thing and it was top quality entertainment.
I'm so used to going to gigs now that I don't get excited about a gig all that easily anymore. I enjoy gigs and the music is generally good but I get bored easy. This gig reminded of me what it's like to be just another fan going nuts at a gig and it felt so good. I think the band really enjoyed it as well. I wish I could go again tonight.
Did anyone else go?
I saw a few Baphomets there but didn't speak to any of them.
