Media Meltdown

Like it or not, we have become a digital society. I enjoy being able to do what we can do these days, hovever, I have been SERIOUSLY wondering how this will change our normal ways of life...

EVERYTHING that we USED to have to pay CA$H for can now be gotten online, in MOST cases %100 FREE.

Music, Movies, Games, Software, Books, Pr0n....YOU NAME IT.

Anybody that produces this stuff for retail sale HAS to be feeling the declining revenues...

What do any of you think might happen as a result?

I have some ideas, but I'll wait for some of you to answer, before I post my own reply.

...and HELL followed with him

Re: Media Meltdown
Maybe this didn't really interest anybody, but I can see some far-reaching & fairly unpleasant concerns with this issue...

In the NEWS lately, I have seen warnings of a terrorist-attack upon CYBERSPACE.

This MEDIA MELTDOWN that I am concerned with threatens to completely undermine the monetary base of the entire free world...this won't merely make it impossible for you to connect to your favorite pr0n....errr, Walt Disney sites, kiddies...

...it might even screw us ALL in REAL LIFE.

THINK ABOUT IT.....a great deal of what our respective countries produce is now available online, in downloadable form. Only perishables, like FOOD, or specialty items, such as CLOTHING & AUTOMOBILES are impossible to download in usable form.

Until recently, different forms of media products accounted for a very high percentage of daily sales...but this is now a digital age, where you can get virtually ANY media-related product, if you know where to look.

As a musician, or an author, trying to make a decent living, think about how discouraging it would be for your very heart and soul to be freely traded or given away....why even bother?

SO MUCH money is being lost by all of the media manufacturers that I feel it will only be a matter of TIME before "Big Brother" steps in to put a HALT to all of the warez-mp3-movies, etc-trading that goes on daily.

People will prolly be throwing fits, calling out war-slogans like DEATH TO THE NAZI-CAPITALIST PIGS, and such, when the governmental internet controls are universally imposed upon us....as I fear they soon will be

But do we really have any choice?

Should we really have the freedom to illegally & immorally destroy our own economic base, with our gimme-gimme mentality?

Behold, a pale horse, and the man that sat on him was Death
...and HELL followed with him

Re: Media Meltdown
I think the net as a form of communication and reaserch was a really good idea, but the whole commercialization of it sort of makes me ill. Basically because it does allow it ot be recognized as an economic force, and as such be subject to regulation.
