Musical Favourites, vol.2
This forum has been so quiet and I decided to try to liven things up.
Come here and talk about you musical favourites.
I have talked that I like Metallica and Creed. But the newest fav band is Evanescene. Their Bring Me to Life, Going Under, Even in Death, Imaginary, Haunted are just great.
And I love the soundtrack of POTC.

Barbossa: Yes, we know that one. Anything else?
Jack: No! Not good! Stop! Not good! What are you doing? You burned all the food, the shade, the rum.
Elizabeth : Yes, the rum is gone.
Jack : Why is the rum gone?
Elizabeth : One, because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels. Two, that signal is over a thousand feet high. The entire Royal Navy is out looking for me, do you really think that there is even the slightest chance that they won’t see it?
Jack: But why is the rum gone?
Jack : A wedding! I love weddings…drinks all around!
I have way too many favourites to name! But some of them are: Lifehouse, The Beatles, Rooney, Michelle Branch, Sixpence None the Richer, John Mayer, Train, Mandy Moore, BBMak, The Donnas, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41.. etc. I have a lot more, but I wouldn't have been able to list all of them.

LOL, I tend not to like songs with words. With a few exceptions (Enya comes to mind) I much prefer instrumental pieces.
Some of my favourite artists:
Enya
David Lanz
John Williams
David Arkenstone
And my fav. soundtracks:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
There are others but I'm kinda too tired to list them right now.

I absolutely love instrumental music too. The soundtracks of POTC, TTT and FOTR, I don't tire of listening. Orchestrated pieces are so powerful and I tend to like songs that have the same kind of sense of power in them.

Heh, I am kinda on a movie soundtrack kick, myself right now.
My POTC soundtrack hasn't left my car CD player since I bought it the day it came out. And right now my home CD player has the soundtrack to Chocolat. But I'm sure that the ROTK soudtrack will be my next favorite when it it released.

I don't have the POTC soundtrack either but I downloaded the tracks. I want to buy the soundtrack but it hasn't arrived to the stores here yet. I hope they will order it though.

Yeah, the PotC soundtrack is really hard to find. I looked at one Best Buy store, but they were out, and they were getting 2 whole copies of it the next day. Honestly, if they realise that it is such a popular item why don't they order more??? Then I looked at Wal-Mart to find that Wal-Mart still doesn't have it. (The movie had been out for over a month! Sheesh...) I finally went to a different Best Buy and got the very last copy. That precious cd was the only music I listened to for three weeks... and it's back in my cd player again today.
Lin, what is The All-American Rejects'? Is it a group? An album?

Strange things with the POTC cd. I don't even know if they will bring it to Estonian stores, if our shopkeepers decide that it would sell. I think there may be a chance for me to order it specifically through the same store chain that brings the cd's to Estonia. I have to find out.

I saw the MTV music video awards the other day and I saw the All-American Rejects. I have to listen to more of their music to say but from that brief time I felt that it was not exactly my kind of music. But I have to listen to them more to decide.

Ok, this should be more properly under the Songs and Poems thread but well, here it is. Just something to get some fresh posts in the forum and also to share a great song.
I started to like Nickelback's Do This Anymore, I had not listened to it properly before but when I did, I fell in love with the song right away.
Oh and I am feeling I am drowning more deeply into the soundtrack world. Everyone always talked about how good Gladiator's was and I did listen to those. In the end I liked two The Battle and The Barabarian Horde the most, others not that much. And since in the POTC's score Hans Zimmer had a hand in too, I can really hear similarities between the Gladiator tracks I mentioned and the POTC ones.
