My exodus...
Greetings to everyone on this message board. I'd like to introduce myself, and perhaps talk about my reasons for leaving the CoS and joining the 1st Church.
Basically i have been a Satanist for a few years now, setting up a grotto in Northampton (near Milton Keynes) which has grown to 10+ members over time. As things progressed, i began to get concerned over the direction that the CoS was heading under the guidance of Peter Gilmore et al. I didn't like the rapidly growing arrogant, elitist element, the dictatorial voice put forth by Lestat Ventrue and friends, and, on the brink of choosing to become a paid member of the CoS, i chose to say no.
The Church Of Satan has lost it's way, and is rapidly alienating huge numbers of potential members by it's uber-rightwing policies, including it's advocacy of eugenics, something used by the Nazi's.
Hopefully i will be welcomed as a member of the 1st Church UK, and able to share my insights and experiences with like minded individuals.
Michael, First of all welcome to SOTOS. We are not the FCoS, that continues in it's own direction. We have now formed Society of the Onyx Star, an organisation dedicated to bringing and teaching the ways of the LHP as a whole and not just satanism.
It's interesting to see the views that I have myself about the CoS mentioned by a 'former' CoS member.

Welcome indeed - hope you enjoy your stay. I heard about the Northampton grotto, as I live in Bedford for a while - and was going to try and get in contact, but I hadn't the time unfortunately.
While I don't share your thoughts on the CoS, I respect your ability to make your own decisions.

I respect the writing in the Satanic Bible, but having done a lot of research into the background, i don't swallow the line coming from either Lestat Ventrue or Matt Paradise defending what is blatant plagiarism. Read this article and tell me what you think.
It was after reading it that i decided having ANY affiliation to the CoS, in any shape, form or other. Lestat Ventrue et all don't give a sh*t about the truth, all they have interest in ensuring a flow of cash to the CoS via Purging Talon and the CoS Emporium.
