Hello everyone, My name is Stephanie. I finally took the time and got registered so that I could come to this message board. I have wanted to for sooo long. Well here I am. I have enjoyed reading different people's post and the different conversations. It is also nice to see familiar names such as--Krista (Hello!) and Sarah C. (Long time). Another thing that took me forever was the fact that I couldn't decide what my user name should be--I have the hardest time deciding. Well I also have a question:how in the world do I get a picture or quote in my posts (do I have to put it in there every time or can I save it?) and how can I get a picture under my usename? I am quite envious for most of you have the best pictures from my Favorite movies (Ever After, Lorna Doone-Krista-and I think I've seen Pride and Prejudice) oh well I'll find something else. Well I am glad I'm here, Love in Christ, Stephanie |

Hello Stephanie!!!!!
It is so good to see you here!!!! I love your user name! Okay, about how to do the picture in your signature. I've copied and pasted the instructions given me at another message board I go to. Here it is! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Type the word center in brackets, like these [] Right next to it, type the word image in brackets like that. Then next to them, type in the link for the picture you want. Then type [/image] Then type [/center] Make sure you leave no spaces between words, and save changes #1. Go to the front page of the board, which lists all the forums (Administrative Annoucements, Introduce Yourself, Etc.). #2. Go to My Control Center #3. Click on it. #4. Click on Account Preferences. #5. Scroll down till you come to the Custom Signature box, and then type your code into into. #6. Click on Save Changes. Also, you have to download the picture to your sever, instead of linking to that site. You can go to File, and click Save As, then save it in the folder you want it in. Then click on the picture and copy the file address. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Let me know if you have any questions! I may seem confusing in the explanation.... Krista... Thanks for posting those directions for adding a picture to one's post!! I've been meaning to do that; so you helped me out!! I sure do appreciate it!! You're right!! It's very important to download your chosen picture to your computer, and then upload it to a host online. For those of you who are new and wondering why it's so important to download and upload your pictures... Years ago I actually learned the hard way! The lady was extremely gracious and I learned much! When you click the button, (in the upper left-hand corner) to insert and image, it will ask you for an internet address. Some go to a website, right click on the picture they like, then click properties, and copy the address of the image. Then they just paste that address into the area requesting a link for an image. That's what I did, before I realized it wasn't a good practice. So, now I understand, that's just part of being a good neighbor on the internet. I'm thankful the Lord used this experience for a learning opportunity for me. Hopefully my story will help someone else too. I'm off the topic of introductions... but it's important to know. Stephanie, thanks for asking! Krista, thanks again for all your help! Have a wonderful day Ladies! Blessings in Jesus! Emilee Elizabeth For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Psalms 33:21 Edited by: Emilee Elizabeth at: 1/30/03 2:25:37 pm |

Help! I don't understand what you are supposed to do after you find a picture you want on the internet. How do I upload? I understand everything about putting your picture on the control center, but how do you get a picture to have h t t p : / / in front of it? Thank you! ~*~Shannon~*~ |

Hi Shannon!Once you've found a picture online simply right click with your your mouse and click "Save picture as...". This will then give you the option to save the picture to your computer or on a disk. Choose where you want to save your picture and then click "Save." It's important to make sure you can use your chosen picture and there are no copyrights on it. Now comes the uploading part. You will need to find a "host". A host holds your picture online for you and gives you an address for your picture. There are several places that can host pictures for you. There are free photo album hosting sites where you can upload your picture. Or you could sign up for a free website and upload your picture to their servers. At your free website or photo album there will be a place for you to "Upload". Once you've found this place they will ask for you to browse through your computer files and find your picture. Once you've found your picture you'll select that and then they'll have a button that says "upload". That's what you'll want to click on. Now your picture is on the internet. Okay, now how do you figure out your address? Well, let's use the photo album for an example... You should be able to browse through your album and find your picture. Once you've found it try right clicking on your picture. Once your little menu opens try clicking on "Properties". In the box that pops up it will have an "Address (Url)" section. This is your picture's internet address! You can now put that address in your control center profile or signature! I hope I've helped. You had a great question! It can sound difficult to explain but it's really simple. Blessings to YOU! In my sweet Saviour! Emilee Elizabeth Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Thanks Emilee, that's a great help to me as well Blessings, Deb ![]() "Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace: Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life." --St. Francis of Assisi |

Okay, on threat of sounding like an airhead because of the "I can host for you" and then "No, I can't host for you" and then "Yes, I can host for you", let me say that I CAN host pictures now, so if any of you ladies need one hosted for your signature, just post the original link, and I'll host it for you
Sorry about all this I really do have it together better than this, I promise Blessings, Deb ![]() "Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace:

Thank you so much for the help! Now I just need to know where to find some good pictures! Also, how do I know whether a picture is copy righted or not? As you can tell I am very new to all of this. So thank you so much for your patience with me! ~*~Shannon~*~ |
