NEWS:
Dear Visitor, Please note that Trián is reformed and can be found here from now on: http://go.ezboard.com/btheocracy
This board will be archived soon.
Unfortunately, the drum beats sometimes sound a bit loud when played on General MIDI (should work OK on Roland SC88-Pro though).
I hate the lyrics in the verses at the moment (I've never been very good at writing lyrics ), so any suggestions are more than welcome (as long as they fit )...
Quote:Oh, Trián, oh peaceful land of plenty,
Oh, mighty land of gold;
A nation founded to be prosperous;
In commerce, Trián shall excel!
At times it may seem we are beaten,
And we may feel the urge to give up.
But through the dark times we shall persevere,
And with jubilant voices shall sing:
CHORUS: Oh, Trián!
Oh, Trián!
Long may you prosper!
Our hearts, which beat forever proudly,
In Trián we shall invest!
Now, peacefully we trade with others,
A profit we shall make;
Our businesses shall ever strengthen
Abundant in trivén!
But sometimes our peacetime is threatened,
And danger approaches our land;
Trián shall not ever be conquered,
And Triánis forever shall sing:
Chorus
Together, we shall forge a nation,
A nation just and free,
Uphold our glorious constitution,
United, Trián shall succeed!
But some, they may try to deceive us;
Our freedom they may try to steal!
But Triánis, unite against them,
In Trián shall freedom prevail!
Re: National Anthem
I think that's a very long anthem. Plus, I don't know of any anthems with chorus' but I'm not an expert in the field. I like the music though, and the words are pretty good.
Re: National Anthem
@ earl:
hm it's not the shortest of anthems, I know. Each verse is about a minute long. But I think it's about the same length as the US and French anthems. As for the total length, it's OK I think - the French one's got 7 verses and lasts about 9 minutes in total Scary - there's a whole website dedicated to the Marseillaise.
As for choruses - hm the French anthem has one - from "Aux armes citoyennes" onwards - and I think the Soviet one did too, although I'm not certain.
Re: National Anthem
the american anthem lasts less than 2 minutes. But that's only the first verse. Nobody sings the other verses. I apologize, Im used to the Canadian anthem, which lasts 1 minute long.
