Re: National Tourney
my first run of filling out the men's bracket has J'town, St A, Albertson and Siena Hghts in the Final 4.

St A defeating Albertson in the Final.

i'll take the two dac 10 teams to win national tourneys, mary women and jamestown men, womens pick is kind of iffy but the jamestown men, as long as their point guard is healthy, storm through the field and when the national title

I only can really provide my opinions on Dac-10 teams. I'd agree that it's Jamestown's tournament to win on the men's side, providing Sufi's ankle injury isn't serious. The Dickinson men might win a game but that's about it. Besides Ulin and Tota, that team isn't very talented. The women's side, I just don't have a good feeling about the Umary women. They don't have a good post or pt guard. That will come back to haunt them this week. Leer and Zundel can only carry them so far. The Minot and Dickinson women get rolled.

MNU's game
Hey, butt,

Are you going to MNU's game tonight? If they win, I plan on going down Saturday. Any interest? Drop me an e mail.

Host School
I was just curious to what everyone thinks about a host school for the tournaments. I was at the D2 girls tourney and there was an obivious edge for Morningside's girls team. Any time they needed to get some adrenline flowing, their crowd seemed to help them get going. They had some huge crowds to back them. I think the naia should get rid of the host schools and play the tournaments at a neutral place.

tourney location
I will weigh in on this issue. This has driven me crazy for years. It really started bothering me when the tournament was at Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho. They would get an automatic bid when they finished .500. They would have a huge homecourt advantage because that was too far for fans to travel from most schools. That home court advantage took them to the finals one year and the final four another if I remember right. Look at College of the Ozarks, too. They make the tourney whether they deserve it or not. They made a nice run that one year to the finals. They had a good team that year, but it wasn't a finals team. The home court advantage is HUGE for these teams. It makes it even worse when they get an automatic bid and don't deserve it. That knocks a deserving team out of the tourney. I agree. Move it to a neutral site.

new refs too
Not only was it an advantage for Morningside having it in Sioux City, the officiating was as bad as I'd ever seen it....

venue and host bid
i don't like the 'host' bid system either

there's gotta be another way to say 'thank you' to a 'host' institution besides automatically allowing the host school's team to participate in the tourney

the officiating at the naia dII tourney has sucked ever since i've been attending games

the good teams just have to overcome, cuz the poor calls go both ways
