Fender Tag Decode
Shaker - Can you help?
Do you know what this string of code means on a Plymouth?
150 084 676
26
I know what the 084, 676 and 26 are, but not the 150?
I haven't seen a car with this 150 code - it's a Lynch Road car.
The number is usually a 122 for 440/6pack!
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help with the above question as I'm tring to make a decision on a car and no one seems to know what the number 150 means. Any info would help!
Re: Need help decoding info on your Mopar ??????
Could you tell me if this VIN would be correct for a 1969 Roadrunner? RH23H9A, I am looking into buying this car aand would like to verify that is a true Roadrunner and not a doctored up Satelite.
Re: Need help decoding info on your Mopar ??????
RH23H9A
R = Belvedere / Satellite
H = Satellite(68-70),
23 = 2-door hardtop
H = 383ci/330hp or 335hp 4-bbl V8 (1968-69)
9= 1969 model year
A = Lynch Road, Detroit, MI (assembly Plant)
The car is most likely a Sport Satellite. If it were a Road Runner the second letter would be an M.
Even if it is a Sport Satellite, it would make a nice car.....but it's not a Road Runner.
R = Belvedere / Satellite
M = Road Runner (68-74),
23 = 2-door hardtop
E63= 383 4 barrel
D21= 4 speed trans
G17= Build Date, July 17
455073= sequence number
If the numbers you gave are the bottom line of the fender tag from left to right, then this tag is from a 1968 Road Runner. If the tag is still on the door you can match it up to the dash plate. The same number is also on the radiator support (where the radiator bolts to the body), but are very difficult to find sometimes....especially if the car has been repainted. If the dash does not match the fender tag, I would be wondering if the car has been messed with. The fender tag is easy to replace and so is the dash. For that matter, the door could have been replaced also. Does the title match the dash or the fender tag? This car could be a salvage, or a deliberate change to make the car more valuable or to replace a rusted out body. It's hard to say.
I belong to another board that is very active, with some very knowlegeable members. The site is locted at the link below.

Thanks for the help, you said this tag is from a 1968 Roadrunner. The car is a 1969. The steering column and power steering are out of a Satellite according to the owner. He said he purchased the car six years ago the way it is now. Someone may have changed the dash when they changed the steering column. Can you tell from the fender tag if the car was equipped with the in dash tachometer? This car has a dash tach. but it does not work.
Since I am looking for an original 69 restoreable Roadrunner I will probably pass on this one. (too many variables to authenticate it I think). The car is excepyionally straight with minor surface rust under the vynal top which I could easily repair. Over all the car is a 7.5 out of a 10.
Re: VIN Decode
It's a pretty big deal to change a dash, because you have to take the windshield out. There's a grand total of two screws holding the fender tag on. Which one do you think was changed?
You don't have to take the dash out to change the steering column.
After going through the hassle of changing the dashboard, I'd surely have changed the VIN tag too. The VIN tag has to match the title. That is, if you're in a state that requires old cars to have titles.
If I wanted a *real* roadrunner, I'd take my money elsewhere, odds are not in favor of that one being real. But if the price is right, and you don't care that it's a clone, then base your decision on the condition of the car. Don't expect to ever get roadrunner money back out of it though.
