New guy - 71 Satellite
I've just made the jump to B-body land with a 71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. It has the 383 2V, slapstick automatic, and what feels like highway gears (2.79s?). The guy I'm buying it from had it for a year and did a lot of good things: new vinyl top, replacement buckets, new grill, new brakes all around, new 4 barrel intake, front end, etc. He lost interest when a Charger came his way. The owners before him had it since 85 and had sanded it down, primered it, put headers on it, put in a racing seat...that was it in almost 20 years.

It was originally yellow with the black half vinyl top.

Here's a picture (it was raining).

I've had my Fury for almost three years, and I have been letting it sit as I waited for a GTX, Satellite, RR, or Coronet came along (i.e. something with two doors).

Here's my Fury (2nd owner, certicard, build sheet, blah, blah):

I'm hoping the 71 Satellite will one day rival my brothers 72 Sebring Plus (long sold). This picture was taken right after he painted it (he shot the paint himself):

Since I've been working on a c-body for so long, I'm sure to have a lot of questions for you guys.

Here's my first - I've never been crazy about yellow cars - the paint will inevitably fade to a horrible meringue color. So, what colors go well with a black vinyl top?

Re: New guy - 71 Satellite
What is the color code on the trim tag?
If it's Lemon Twist yellow, you might want to seriously consider putting it back that way.
Sure....old yellow cars in junkyards fade and look crappy, but a well taken care of yellow car looks pretty spectacular!
