O.R.B. (Off-Road Boarding) Magazine
The latest issue of O.R.B. has just hit the mailboxes of subscribers and local board shops. If you care about riding, want to know more about riding and the people who ride pick one up and subscribe by contacting www.offroadboarding.com, or call 303-933-2362, or e-mail offroadboarding@aol.com.
The March-April issue is greater than all of the previous issues combined. With letters from riders, profiles of the people who ride, trick tips and product reviews, you'd think that would be enough. Add to that, photos of the pros and just your regular everyday rider and you've got a magazine that is for and about all mountainbarders.
Although the current issue has a advisory type sticker on the front, the majority of the content is suitable of kids. Parent should review this magazine as they would any publication before deciding if their children should read it. The publisher of the magazine is well aware of the type of social irresponsibility that is typical of other alternate and mainstream sports. He is attempting to be responsible while not alienating his readership.
Please remember that he bulk of ATB riders come from a skateboarding background. And many are adults. For some reason they feel like if they can't swear or be quoted swearing that they just aren't as hard core. That is the only reason I can see for the occasional asterisks substituted four letter word.
Just about everybody who reads O.R.B. knows the manufacturers of ATB's, the accessory equipment and the retailers that sell both. It's great to see the ads, not because we need to know about the products but because we know that advertiser support the sport through support of OUR magazine.
Thanks to all the advertisers for helping each issue. When all things become equal it's the commitment to what riders find important that will decide the winner.
