Oil for a 383?
Just bought a '68 Road Runner with a 383. I don't have serice manuals, yet, but would like to know how much oil and what weight?

I was thinking Redline synthetic and I have a K&N oil filter... Any opinions on this, too?

Thanks in advance for your help!

oil.....
5 quarts with filter is the fill. I use 30 wt Quaker State and a Fram or AC filter.Oil is a personal choice.Use what you feel is best, and change it on a regular basis.I personally do not use synthetcs as I'm a strong beliver in a 3 month/3000 mile oil change, and my opinion is that synthetic is too expensive to change it that often. My 2 daily drivers have 142,000 and 134,000 miles on them and I've always changed the oil and filter on a 3/3000 schedule.Hope this helps.
