It's been so long since any of us have posted on the board, and I'm hoping that somebody...anybody will respond to this post. It's been awhile since I've heard of anything about Lishtar; does anybody know anything about her condition and whereabouts? What's to become of her webpage, and this community for that matter? Sorry, if I sound like I'm panicing, but Lishtar has been a good friend of mine for several years now (she even helped me in my self initiation to priesthood) and never in any other organization have I had the sense of belonging (except in my Shaolin-Do kwoon), and I don't want this to end. Well, there's my cry for help, I pray to Inanna that somebody out there is listening.
I have no other information about Lishtar's condition save for what was posted here way back when, but just posting to let you know that there are others thinking of her too. I was her student and have mailed her email address hoping for an answer from someone, but to no avail. I suspect (and hope!) that she's recovering in the mountains with her family. I'm sure we would've been told if things were otherwise.
I thought that I lost this community, and it's good to hear from somebody. Why don't we have a head count, and everybody that is part of this community please respond to this post. Even though Lishtar is recovering(?), we shouldn't grow distant in her absense. You speak of courage, and I agree we all must have courage, but there is strength in numbers, and lets continue what Lishtar has begun.
Old scribe still here
I too was hoping to hear something about Lishtar by this time. I am busy teaching and working on my web pages. Hope we hear some good news soon. Best wishes to all the board circle and to Lishtar from an old Sumerian scribe. Silim!
Re: Lishtar's condition/whereabouts
Yes, I, too am becoming very worried about Lish.... it has been two months since she became ill in Lisbon and we haven't heard anything.... I even tried to email the hospital in Lisbon (well, the only one listed on the net) hoping they would be able to respond...
John/Makaranda was the one who received the initial message from Marco - Lish's brother... perhaps he could get some updated info for us...
I checked in with Frank about a month ago and he hadn't received any news either.
And yes, we will keep on here *regardless*. Discussion doesn't have to stop ... we should keep going!! After all, we are a community here
Sending love & hugs to everyone!

I'm feeling a little bit better now; I'm glad to see that there are still friends out there during this trying time. I've been researching a lot about our religion on both this website and Bel Murru's. It's amazing how much the Judeo-Christian-Islamic faith has "borrowed" their lessons and parables from the Mesopotamian faiths. This is all very intriguing to me as I continue to study with great fervor on all primary civilizations. I visited the Yucatan this past May to study the Mayans (university sponsored in the Anthropology Dept.) and two things about them really caught my attention. First, their advanced knowledge in astronomy, the Mayans were able to not only predict future eclipses, but they were also capable of predicting future conjunctions with any and all of the planets from Mercury to Saturn. There seemed to be an emphasis on the planet Venus, which seems very peculiar to me because they're not the only civilization to have payed so much attention to our "sister planet". Second, the Mayans have a great flood in their recorded historys! This is the fifth ancient civilization that claims of this great flood occuring. The Mesopotamians, the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Norse and now the Mayans all swear up and down that a gigantic flood covered the Earth. This is where my research gets exciting; five different sources with little or no contact with one another at the time frame of this occurance, all claim the same thing. Apparantly, there truly was a flood, that if not didn't cover the Earth, then it must have engulfed the majority of it. I noticed the location of all of these civilations and they all had access to the Atlantic ocean (Greece, Egypt, and Mesopotamia through the Mediterranian Sea) so my current hypothesis states that the great flood was in the Atlantic ocean or at least a greater sum of it occured there. Of course, this is only conjecture and unless we climb MT Sinite(s/p?) in Turkey and take a look at that giant boat up there, I doubt we'll have anything more than conjecture and written history to rely on.
On a lighter note, I noticed the gallery section at Gateways, and I'm wondering if it would at all be possible to submit a jpeg of my work of Lady Inanna in there. Anyway, I'm glad to see that we're still in contact with one another, and together we'll all get through this, and together our prayers will be said for Lishtar. Thank you all for listening.
