On the Future of our Forum
It is a surprise to no one that we have been dying, that we have been on our last legs for some time. The recent deletion of all our topics has been kind of a last straw for me. I really see no reason to keep this going in the state it's in.
I have been asked not to delete the board entirely. I am still taking that under consideration. As it is, I'm sitting at about 80-90% that I have no interest in maintaining or posting here anymore.
There has been discussion about moving the duck to a LJ community. The logistics of it are being looked into.
If I don't delete entirely, I will pass the RDD name on. if they want to try to beat life into this dead (duck) horse, more power to them.
Just an FYI - no actions will be taken until the reconstruct is complete.

As much as I hate change, the most active threads over the past while have been the 'cool/crappy/strange things' and 'Bast at the Movies' threads. with as much as is posted here, I think an LJ type thing would be the easiest, and requires a lot less maintenance.
Re: On the Future of our Forum
Perception is reality.
As it stands on our topics, I'm reasonably certain that the content up to May 9 will be restored. When, I can't say, but I don't think the ezboard announcements have the sound of lies to them.
Before the deletion, we were in a summer lull. Several of our regulars don't have reliable internet access over the summer. This is a fact we've dealt with for several summers going back to Fireside. This summer lull has NOTHING on the kind we had on that board, either.
Vird, you've been the doomsayer the past several times we've renewed for gold, whining that there's no interest in maintaining the place, even though the rest of us as a community pitched in and made it happen, even some of the less frequent posters.
With the exceptions of TQ and Frost, we've been a pretty well-knit group of friends going back to 1997. EZboard gave us a nice means of congregating as a group, and I'd hate to revert back to the days of ICQ just because you no longer want to maintain a board.

Re: On the Future of our Forum
I will not be closing this forum, but I also will not be working on maintaining it for the forseeable future. I have moved myself and my postings over to the FTK forums. There's a large general topic forum that everyone is welcome to come participate in, clan member or no. If you decide to travel over and post there, cool, if you jump on for some games, even better.
I'l still look here from time to time, but for the most part I'm moving on to greener pastures. It's been good times.
If you care to migrate, the FTK forums are located at http://www.fullthrottlekillers.com/forums/index.php
