Opposite Lights
Rae Madison groaned as she woke up with rocks digging into her back. She noticed one sleeve on her shirt had already torn and stared crossly at it for a moment before she realized she wasn't alone.
Nestled in the crook of her arm was Glowmon and that alone brought a smile to Rae's sunny face as she sat up and woke Glowmon too.
"I'm glad you're here Glowmon," Rae said softly and smiled back as her digimon partner flashed her a quick smile. "Just one question Rae," he said after a moment.
"Go ahead," Rae said unsurely.
"Who's that?" Glowmon pointed as best he could towards a boy with almost silvery hair it was such a pale blonde. He looked only a year older than her and had a small digimon on his stomach that wasn't entirely dissimilar from Glowmon.
"I don't know but he's asleep. Should we wake him?" Rae asked hesitantly.
"Might as well. I don't want to wait for sleeping beauty to wake up before finding out if he's an enemy or a friend. I just want to go back to sleep, preferably without rocks in my back," Glowmon said. His comments made sense but just as Rae leaned over to wake him his eyes flickered open.
She jumped back in surprise but he was up on his feet quick as a flash with the strange digimon beside him.
"Who are you?" Rae asked quickly.
"I was about to ask you the same question but seeing as you answered first, I'm Apollo Evans and this is Twinklemon. And as for your next question I have no idea how we ended up here with you or even where here is," Apollo said calmly.
Rae was far less calm. "How did you know what my next question was? Are you going to fight us?"
"I'd prefer not to fight," Apollo said, purposely avoiding her first question. "Now if you'll let me get a word in, who are you?"
"Rae, Rae Madision but you probably already knew that. This is Glowmon, my partner," Rae answered. "Are you psychic?"
Apollo shrugged. "You can say I am if you want but I don't think so. I just know things sometimes. Now I don't know where here is but Twinklemon seems to think this is Celestial Peaks and that we're on the continent of Printer. In that case we'd better get going if you want to find the others."
"Others?" Rae asked. "What others?" but as Apollo picked up his large bag in one hand and Twinklemon with the other she followed anyway, hastily placing Glowmon on her shoulder and swinging her backpack off one shoulder.
Apollo only smiled mysteriously, his silver-blue eyes glinting in the sunlight.
This, thought Rae, is truly infuriating.
