Passion of Christ Discussion
Just thought I should start a thread for everyone to discuss this movie :) I haven't seen it yet but plan to next weekend. I'm just little ticked with the complaints of 'too much violence' 'promotes anti-semetism'. They really miss the whole point of the movie.

Discuss :P

Re: Passion of Christ Discussion
Liked it alot. More then just violent or 'realistic' though. I liked its sense of the artistic very much.

Romans 9:22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?
I Samuel 15:2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he set himself against him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt. 3 'Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'"

Re: Passion
I saw it on the 5th. I thought it was a very good movie. It really changes the way you think about the crucifiction. If anything it strongly improves your faith because the impact of what he went through for us is made more apparent.

Re: Passion
Yeah, and I just had communion yesterday, and it WAS different for me after seeing the movie! Communion always was a time when I would be thinking and praying about Jesus dying for me, and ask Him to search me and tell me what I should change or surrender. Just that now I have a vivid picture of Him in the communion context too!

Re: Passion
I thought it was an excellent movie. I particularly liked the way the devil was portrayed as the tempter of Jesus..
A lot of people forget or seem to that Christ was tempted in all points as we are yet without sin.

Yeah, the devil stuff was interesting...though I don't get the part where's holding a little demon-baby. Anyone know what that was about?

Re: Passion
I'm not sure. I read somewhere that it was suppose to show that satan mocked Jesus. Like satan was suppose to be Mary and Jesus the little demon baby. It didn't make sense to me either.

Re: Passion
I've heard it probably refers to this:

And I will put (15) enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
(16) He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel."

- Genesis 3:15 NASB

The child represents the seed of Satan. However since most people don't have a clue what it's supposed to represent it just ends up being very disturbing.
