Pattern Making Book Hello Ladies! I just wanted to share the title of a sewing book that might be helpful to you. It is: “Making Patterns from Finished Clothes” By Rusty Bensussen (that is an odd name for a woman, isn’t it?) I couldn’t believe it when Daddy came back from the library with the book – he’d bought it off the discard rack! I didn’t even know such a book existed! The copyright is 1985, so I don’t know if it’s still in print, but you may be able to find it on the Internet somewhere. The book basically is what it says, drafting patterns from clothes you already have (without taking them apart). It looks very thorough and has some great information. She includes instructions for clothes with set-in sleeves, skirts and pants, and once you get the idea, I’m sure it would work for dresses too. Anyway, thought you might be interested!! Happy sewing! ~Hannah ![]() "Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance." Acts 2:28 |
