Possible 8 Pack Players Going to New York
In another thread Checker Fan talked about the Scoop in Hartford. Here is the Link to that article: Hartford Courant Article
I start this new thread because of the issue raised by a quote by Schoenfeld in regards to the potential number of players going to New York. Here is the last paragraph of the above linked story.

If this plays out to the maximum and 8 Pack players go to New York, this which have tremors which will be felt in Charlotte.
If the news on the new NHL CBA is correct and there is a salary cap; and considering the high priced salaries on the Rangers, the remainder of the team is going to have to be fleshed out with low-end pay players, which is where the Wolf*Pack roster could be decimated.

like IC said, this will probably have more than just a tremor effect in charlotte...this could really hurt us even more so than hartford b/c we are a lower league (and we only made 3 qualifying offers). Wilkie will figure something out, he did excellent last year taking a team of only 11 players at times and making them win, if we have almost all rookie guys, i think he could still make them a great team once they've gotten used to playing with each other.

I seriously think Rawlyk, Cuthbert, Glenn (is he Pack property?), and maybe MacIntyre are the only assigned players who will be back in Charlotte for next year for any lenght of time.
Helminen, Taylor, Liffiton, and Falardeau will be in Hartford. Stals, Cullen, and Wirll won't have their contracts renewed.
As for 8 Pack players on the Rangers, I'll say....
He was after the start of last season. I don't know how long his contract was for, tho.

I presume that you mean on the current roster. The rumors I'm hearing lead me to believe that the coach is planning on a whole lot more being down here from up there.

That should make that rabid Cullen fan up there none too happy. Even though Stals did polish the ice pretty well, I wouldn't mind having him back.

checker fan I believe you are right concerning Glenn since he is no longer listed on the Rangers site as being "In the System"

So I guess we all have to wait and see if Mac & Rory among many other notables sign back in with the Rangers? Or get the opportunity to sign back in...? What are everyone's thoughts on those whose contracts are up?
