Gregory,
I'm going to sound like a plug here. I bought one from Rad Trax. I mainly race t-jets and I wanted something to use other than my 60 ohm parma turbo.(Yes, I put a 60 ohm resistor in a turbo) I read the reviews linked to these controllers from the Rad Trax site and also talked to Jon at Rad Trax. They are using these as house controllers because they work for any car, any scale.
Now for my personal experience. I tried them starting with my t-jets. Better, more responsive, smoother control. I then tried them with a box stock tyco 440X2. It worked like it was made for it. I then tried a superG+ Same result. On to a Boxstock LifeLike Nascar. Beautiful. Tried a P2E next. Perfect. So we tried the big experiment. Hooked it up the the Hasse Hillclimb and tossed a 16d Flexi on the track. It worked better than my 3 ohm turbo or any house controller in the place with no over heating after 15 minutes of constant running. You don't have to use the break wire for this electronic controller to work. From Rad Trax it was $43.79 + shipping, but if you buy enough other stuff to get your order up to $50 then shipping is free.
In other words. Buy it, use it, you'll like it.
Oh, You should make sure you are running on a pos. gate track, which almost all tracks, except Carrera are anyway. I don't understand that techie stuff, but it says it in the instructions.
Later! Rockinator
