Qld Motor Racing Championship Rd. 2
Gentlemen,
Sup regs are available for Round 2 of the State Champs to be held at Morgan Park on 8-9th April. If you haven't recieved a set by tomorrow's mail give Barry Nixon-Smith a call on 0408 723 854 & I am sure he can fix you up with a copy.
Regards,

A highlight of this meeting will be that the production based classes will have a sprint race on Saturday night under lights!

G'Day David,
Q1- How pristine does my car have to be to run at round 2? I am currently fitting fibreglass bubble arches to the car (big job!) and due to time constraints will probably be not completely finished. They will be glued and riveted, no bog showing, but in white gel coat finish only(the car is blue). Is this acceptable? I would rather do the job properly than rush it just to make the next meeting, but i would still like to get out there and have a bash also. The car is otherwise very straight, good paint, no damage, rust etc. Oh and severly lacking in sponsorship!
Q2- How do I go about registering a race number? Is this done through the club or is this a Cams thing.

G'day Troy and welcome.
Q1, technically you're not supposed to run with undercoat etc. according to the bible the car must be neat and tidy in presentation.
However, If the flares are completely finished other than paint, then you should probably be OK. If they look like you're only halfway through glueing them on, then you'll have a problem.
Q2, CAMS Qld office maintains the register of racing numbers for state level circuit racing. Just give Lisa a call and she can tell you if your chosen number is free and how to reserve it.

If you happen to paint them black, there shouldnt be any mojor dramas, plenty of cars have differing colours on the add on bits to the rest of the car!

Thanks Guys,
I gave Barry Nixon-Smith a call regarding my entry and he said it should not be a problem so long as the car is presentable so I might wait and see how it looks before hitting it with a black spray can. In any case I guess this could be done at the track(properly masked off of course) if they have a problem with it.

Just clear over the grey primer, it is no longer primer anymore as it is now "finished" with clear. Another competitor painted his car in primer and cleared it just to annoy the scrutineers, and he got away with it for the above reason.

Troy, the following link will show you what numbers are already registered. You can pick anything that isn't taken, from 2 to 99 inclusive.

Lisa got me sorted today with a number - 23, so that is one item to check off my list of things to do- only another 163 to go before I am race ready!!!

Hello David,
Have another question for you, do I require a Dorian timer? The supp regs ask for a timer number so I am guessing this is a requirement. Can they be hired or is a purchase of one required?
