Query on Arwen
Ok, I've got a question for book readers...
In the appendices (A) pg1010 it says:
'At the end of the First Age the Valar gave to the half-elven {Elrond and Elros} an irrevocable choice to which kindred they would belong. Elrond chose to be elven-kind.......... to the children of Elrond a choice was also appointed: to pass with him from the circles of the world; or if they remained, to become mortal and die in Middle-Earth.'
So my question is, why doesn't Arwen really die? I mean, she lies down and sort of dies.... but if you read this, it says that they have the choice to become mortal. Elrond says to Arwen (going by the TTT movie) that even if Aragorn doesn't die in the battle with Sauron they will still be parted, if she's mortal wouldn't she die too?

Re: Query on Arwen
this is what i think:
On the books is not say that the elves die anyway, even if they deny of their inmortality. They don't die as humans. They sleep. Although Arween has deny of her inmortality, she has an "elvish die"... (*I'm not explaining properly, I know... but I don't know how to do it)... In the book is say that she lives even longer than Aragorn, and that she disapear on the woods when her time ended... so she die (in an elvish way). Elves never die but on battles. Her "natural" die when they become mortals, is transforming themselfs into part of the woods. I think....
