Racer Magazine ..... where's it gone?
Afternoon Folks,
I was wondering if anybody knows what happened to Racer magazine. It should have been out last month but I haven't seen it at the newsagent. I was really starting to enjoy it, I hope it hasn't disappeared. Anyone know?

I did get a copy of Racer from the Hornsby newsagency a few weeks ago, had a red Viper on the cover, this was the first time Ive ever seen it, more recently I grabbed one that was more like the paper format Auto fiction (in design if not content) that has a story about among other things Fontana Speedcars. This might be the rejuvination of the magazine? there is also a thread on Ten-tenths about it. Ill see if I can pluck a link.
The State Racer that was inserted into Motorsport News at least in Vic & NSW may be a gonnerr though.

The "viper" edition was the last one. I had a look at the paper version that you mentioned and I must say I was very unimpressed (look, feel and the whole "vibe" of it) so I hope that wasn't it's replacement. Racer was shaping up to be a great mag, pity then it might've gone the way of the Dodo.

Yeah I wouldnt want to go to HRT either!! HAHA
I guess we will have to see if it has a bit of consideration for those of us who race at State level get much of a run when the season is in full swing.

RACER may have gone but the paper mag with the same name has a completely different set of writers and publisher. I would say that if they are using the name the old RACER is finished.

Yer, that was my thoughts too. Pity, it was shaping up to be a good mag. Good technical articles that even I could understand And not a V8 supercar in site

Are you guys talking about Race magazine or Racer ??
The editor of Race (Neil) is a member of Performance Forums and as far as i know the magazine is still in production, and the next issue is a week or so behind from what i have heard...

Yep, sorry my bad. When I say "Racer" I meant "Race" magazine. And almost as if I awoke the car mag gods, 2 days after my original post, there it was at the newsagent! A little thinner than previous mags but ther none the less. So grab it while you can!
And not a V8 supercar in site
