Researching
Do any of you ladies like to write historical fiction? :? I've been trying to write a story that takes place during WWII, and am finding it takes a WHOLE LOT more research than I thought! :) I've already found a few facts I had wrong in my original! :eek But I am learning quite a few interesting facts! For instance, did you know that a young 17 year old girl, supported herself and her little sister (I think her parents were dead), as well as hid 13 Jewish people in her apartment?! I found that amazing!!!! There are so many true and inspiring stories about people during the Holocaust. However it is a very sad period too. When I read such stories, I want to cry. :sad

Okay, I think I've gotten away from original topic here!!! :D

Do I write historical fiction?

Yes, I do:)

I'm working on a novel about a half-german, half-jewish girl, set during WWII also, and yes, it takes a lot of research;)

Especially finding out how things could work, and still be in line with history. It's fun though;)

I used to know of some sites that gave good info about WWII. Let me see if I can find them, and I'll e-mail them to you:)

Blessings,
Deb

"Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace:

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life."

I write historical fiction, too!! I'm writing a story about an Egyptian girl, set back during the Ten Commandments. Lucky for me, I don't have go very far to be in line with history. Maybe someday I'll post it here, but I have to finish it first.;) .
