Resquest Datasound of FF4: where i can find it?
Hello everyone,
I am learning C/C++ directX and i would like to
program some stuff on FF4. At first, i would like to get
the datasound of the game. It's easy to find the musics.
But, i didn't find the sounds effects / sounds of the battle
of FF4.
Plz, help me to find these sounds of the game
and after i could start programming a clone of some
elements of the game (battle/map/character).
If i do the perfect clone of all elements
of the game, i will try to put it together.
(but... if ...)
But, i need datasound first.
I programmed some stuff on FF4 in DarkBasic that you can
find there: membres.lycos.fr/inf2170/zonetmp/
(french (Canada) ... sorry)
But i realized that it was very very slow in 2D.
FF4 is the best RPG. That's why i would like to clone
some elements of the game.
It would be cool to do a mmorg of the game
like shatteredearth (that is currently offline).
But they didnt implemented FF4 battles and
they are supposed to change the graphics.
I don't know how to do online games.
Maybe i will learn to do it a day.

I DID get your email brotha, heh.. got a bit caught up with forum posting to reply to it.. sorry bud ^_^ but, i think you need to speak to Hoodboy, he has done a few Flash FF Movies and he has the SFX from a few FF's in it.. so yeah, seek him out.
And after quickly checking that site out i found out something, i suck at reading French lol.

ah hello, i am the guy you need to talk to, i guess. uh what sort of sound effects would you need? i have the roms, and a sound editing program, so i can rip just about any sound you should happen to want.

If it's easy to do, just give me all the sounds you can get from FF4 hehe. and send it to fou_des_maths@hotmail.com
If it's not easy to do, just tell me how can i get your sound editing program (if it's free). What is the name of your sound editing program that could allow me to rip it from the rom. Is it easy to rip?
At first i need:
-*the sound when you move your cursor in the menu.
-sound when you open a door
-*sound when you are entering in a battle.
and when fighting:
-*sound that say when a character is ready
-*sound when a monster die.
-*sounds of every weapon
-*sounds of monster attacking
and the rest... that i forgot.
You should get all the sound effects and put it in a site.
There is no site on the net where you can get them.

alright, this all sounds great. I'll rip em and send em to Dawezy. The sound editing program IS[/b] free. It is called Cool Edit Pro, and it is a great program to have. ill get right on gettin the sounds you have listed.

Wherever excatly, lol.. ive been here the whole fucking time, the internet has been turned off so ive been passing time on the PS2, i'll be awaiting these files Hoodboy.

Hey Dawesy, i've ripped the characters (letters (font)) of FF4
and I put it in the ASCII order(0..255). I made several characters that were not in the game.
I will send you the bitmap by mail.
If you wanna put it in your site, go ahead!
