I know, that's a strange combination. Has anyone ever made sauerkraut or is interested in it? It is a fairly simple process, but oh my, it does smell the house up! Making soap smells the house up too, but with a good smell. My ingredients were water, goat's milk, lye, olive oil, lard, dried rosemary, and lilac scent. It is curing now, and I think it will come out nice. Atlanta |

Hi Atlanta!
Your Sauerkraut and Soap adventure sounds like fun! When I was little I despised sauerkraut, but as I've grown older I've developed a taste for it and really enjoy it. It is true though it has it's own VERY distinct smell. How many bars of soap did you get from your recipe? Was it a recipe you found online or in a book. I'm sure it smells wonderful!! Looking forward to hearing from you again! Blessings on your day! Emilee Elizabeth |

Hello Emilee! Glad to hear from you! By the way, how have you been?? I think I got 31 big bars of soap. And they'll probably last longer than store-bought soap. Well, the sauerkraut didn't turn out quite as sour as I would have liked, but oh well. With love, Atlanta |
