Season 2 Unanswered Questions
Okay, so we're almost mid way through the season (believe it or not) and we have a very long wait ahead of us for the next new episode. So, in the interest of keeping the board alive and inducing a little debating, I thought I would open this thread.
I would like to accumulate all of the questions that have arisen that still haven't been answered. I know that I will get some debate out of IMM, Emilie Fan and Neeners! Please contribute!
Here are mine:
What is that thing that Brody has and why did it only go off when Michael was around? (This one really bothers me)
Does Max not have a power of destruction? He is the only pod squadder who has not killed, and his gifts seem more defensive (healing, that green force field thing).
What powers does Liz have, and can she only connect telepathically with Max?
Do all of those kids in the hospital have gifts now too?
Does Kyle have a gift? God, that could be hysterical...
Why isn't Nicholas dead? Is he not really a "skin"? If he were, he should have flaked to death by now.
Did Tess blast Lonnie and Rath, or have we not seen the last of them?
Will Max ever find out that Liz faked it? (Hee hee - no double entandre intended )
Just what happened in that other life? Was Max that bad of a ruler?
Where is Alex?

Hello Midwest Max.. good to see this thread opened.. My favorite... DEBATING!!!!
First off.. let me add just a few questions..
1. Did Future Max (my personal favorite) know about Liz's powers? If so why didn't he say something to her.. He wouldn't have been revealing anything because she all ready knows she has flashes and other weird things... Maybe he doesn't know and that Liz must be around him to keep the balance.. (remember FM said the whole world went to hell because Tess left.. but the "gift" the Liz used was what Tess does.. interesting...)
Why doesn't Tess use Tabasco? Why does she like sugar instead? Remember she put sugar in her yogart and wanted more sugar for her drink... (I by the way don't think she is the evil alien.. I do believe she is something.. just can't figure out what)
What was it when the Mom o Gram said "you will know them from the evil with in" So far Liz is the only one who has had a weird flash and that was from Nasedo...
Who is that following the Gang? Something is.. I think its the other protector.. I don't think it was Nasedo who killed Hank, or was there in the dessert with Max and Liz in Sexual Healing. Because Tess said in The White Room that Nasedo has never left her for that long.. (seemed like over night) well who ever killed Hank, played that Dr. when they lost the orb. and was in the dessert... Who ever that was left Tess for a long time if it was Nasedo.
Now for MM's questions:
I don't know what that thing was with Brody.. I think it is meant for Michael.. Like a weapon against Michael... There are more out there...
As for Max's powers.. He is the only one who hasn't killed. The season isn't over.. haha ..
But Nasedo said, Oh a pacifist for a King.. and "Brody" in Max in the City said something like He was a good person, that he tried to much to fast for change.. Like he was a Pacifist type King.. Wanting Change for his people.. Unlike Kavar...
Liz and Max I believe are connected... through the powers.. I HOPE everyone Max heals doesn't have powers.. the look Ava gave to Liz was "priceless" Like Liz was the one Zan was waiting for.
I think the Dupes will be back.. I believed what Tess said that they tried to find out where the big Rock but she didn't let them. She seems to have some wicked powers.. (maybe not Max's real bride but his protector.. and a decoy for his bride) In Harvest that guy said to Max... You must be the once and future king... and his bride... By the way the only time Tess has been referred to as his bride.. but eachtime the "bride" thing comes up.. Liz and Tess are there.
Nick, I believe is a wicked Alien.. He has some darn strong powers.. He did have a husk.. He did feel pain when Courtney destroyed the husks.. BUT Courtney didn't...
Max will find out.. When are Feb. sweeps?????

IMM - I personally think Brody's gadget is a bad-attitude detector.
Let's talk about the whole protector thing. In the White Room, Pierce said that they had 4 aliens - 2 dead, 2 alive, and that one of them escaped. We are to assume that was Nasedo, since he told the gang he'd escaped from the compound before. I always assumed they tortured the 2nd live alien to death (3 years worth of experiments, I believe Pierce said). So, who was the shapeshifter that took Zan, Rath, Lonnie and Ava's pods to NY? Did that 2nd alien escape too and then take them 3 years after the fact? It seems to me like Pierce said only one of them escaped. So, what became of alien #2 and who was the shapeshifter Lonnie referred to in MITC? Could it be that there are more friendly aliens out there? Hmm...
IMM - Also interesting that the bride thing has never been mentioned in Tess's presence alone. Hadn't thought of that. Hmm... <she scratches her chin>

ABOUT THE shapeshifter..
there were two of them who took the pods.. Remember in Summer of 47. So I think there might have been a third one. Who escaped but no one knew about.. I also want to know what that is watching them.. what ever it is, they can't see it because Maria and Liz were just about on top of it in Wipe Out.. Nasedo didn't see it either when he found the skin in Skin and Bones...
I know there has to be another shapeshifter out there because thats the one who took the Dupes.. then was probably pissed that he had to protect the fake ones so he headed out to Roswell to protect to REAL royal four! Where was Nasedo all this time, with Tess? and WHY wasn't he in Roswell where the others were.. If he put them there and found Tess... then he knew they were all in that town.. He knew who Max and the others were because of the book.. It isn't like he wasn't sure who he was there to protect.. My God Max is the King for God sakes and he just left him unprotected for 10 years.. I don't think so someone else was there watching out for them.. (IMO of course)

IMM - I think Nasedo "lost" Isabel, Max and Michael. Do you remember in the White Room when Michael told him he'd been looking for him for a long time and Nasedo said "Not as long as I've been looking for you?" I think he overestimated their incubation period or something and they were already hatched (except for Tess) by the time he got there. I think he had to hide out - didn't River Dog say something about him hiding out in the cave? So maybe for some reason the only way he could protect the pods was to not be near them. They were sealed in a mountain - who could have found them there?
You're right about that thing we keep seeing watching things. The first time we saw it was when it was following Max in the school in Ask Not. I kind of thought it was a skin, but why do we never see it? And if everyone has disappeared, why couldn't Maria and Liz see it on the street that day? Very interesting...
BTW - did you notice in MITC that there were only 3 pods where Lonnie and Rath were living? Did they pitch Zan's as soon as he was dead?

Now I remember about Nasedo saying that to Michael thanks for reminding me.. Nasedo had a box full of pictures of Max so I think he knew who he was. (boy did Nasedo screw up with the Royal 3)
That thing was in Skin and bones, watching Nasedo remember when he saw the skin and said "oh no" That thing was watching him.. then it watched Max in the school, then it watched the gang as they walked out of the UFO center (when they were going to kill Brody) Then it watched Liz and Maria in Wipe out... hmmmm
If you look there are four pods on the wall.. but one is in camera shot for only a slip second.. (I slow moed it)
I would like to know who Liz is in all this.. She seems to keep Max grounded.. Like telling him he can't keep using his gift to heal everyone, that he isn't God, She could have also been telling him all that to get rid of some of his guilt that he couldn't save everyone.... She is like the one to tell him things he knows but needs to hear... Why did Ava give her such a weird look when she said that she was saved by Max...
I hope we get some answers to all the questions..
I went to the Crashdown boards and read about Liz's involvement in all this.. and WOW.. some people read a lot into things. There are also some really good ideas on there.
I just loved the humor in ARCC. It lightened things up!

Well Karen, I'll give it a shot but dealing with these type of questions often causes me to lose it and be found days later wandering the streets and mumbling to my hat.
Why isn't Nicholas dead? Hmmm... Well, maybe he has strong enough power to keep the husk preserved a little longer than the rest. Or maybe he came to Earth a while after the rest of The Skins. He had a husk being grown in Copper Summit, but that doesn't mean that his is as old as the others. If he had the option to put on an even fresher husk than the one he had, why not do it?
I never noticed Tess doesn't use Tabasco or that she has a thing for sugar. Interesting. The Podsters have said that they like things spicy and sweet. Maybe some of them like the sweet side better. Tess is awful sweet, you know. Maybe we've just never seen her use the hot stuff. Maybe those scenes were cut. Who knows. What are you trying to say this means IMM?!? That she's really a sugar craving alien? That she's really the mythological 'Tic Tac'? I don't think there are any other alien "protectors" other that the late Nasedo. But you never know. Like I've mentioned before and Karen mentions on this thread - Where was Nasedo for 10 YEARS?!? Sure, its apparent that he got to the pods too late to contact M/M/I as they emerged but where did he think they would go other than Roswell? Is there any other place close? They were six year old children clothed only in the slime they were "born" in. Did he think they boarded a plane to Rio?!? The whole "Not as long as I've been looking for you" thing I've never really understood. Unless Nasedo took the other pods to NY and the other alien planted them near the crash site and was then captured. But you would think that, through some mind-link kind of thing, that the captured alien could've communicated to Nasedo the whereabouts of The Royal Four's pods. So, if that type of communication didn't happen then how did Nasedo know where they were located? If he took the other pods to NYC then what was he doing hiding in a cave near Roswell soon after the crash? For that matter how do you transport 4 alien pods from Roswell to NYC covertly? If there was a third alien then Nasedo should've known about him, so why didn't he tell the Royals about it, or at least Tess?!? And...and...And...AND...AND!!!!! ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! TOO many questions!!! I feel that they'll never be answered. They'll just be those eternal Roswell plot holes and we'll be left to wonder...and speculate...and ask MORE QUESTIONS...UNTIL WE GO INSANE!!!
ARG. I can't stand it. I don't care what the Crashdown boards have to say, they're just specualting as much as we are. Except for that one person that gets to see episodes in advance. But even then, they can't speculate beyond what they've seen in that one show. We may never know.

For those of you who haven't seen this yet, it answers some of the questions we have all had, some of which we discussed on this thread (i.e. who was watching Nasedo right before he was mortally wounded). This link contains 20 some pages of Congresswoman Whitaker's diary - from 1947 when she first arrived (and barely had a grasp on the English language, especially in its written form) right up until "Surprise!".

Wondering LV can be harmful to your health... Did anyone notice how at the end of his first reply.. he just.. Well, wasn't himself.. well. That is what happened when he gets caught up with all these type of questions.. OH.. and its even worse when you know who is mentioned.. Then he looses it.. BRIAN.. ITS OK.. QUESTIONS ARE GOOD... I was reading in this calendar of Roswell.. about how Liz said she had feelings for Max LONG BEFORE he healed her.. hmmmm mutual attraction... Of course...I don't blame her...I can understand right where she is coming from...
Ummm now I have to think about what show Tess was talking about sugar.. Ummm when she first came on the show.. T.L.VT. when she was putting sugar in her yogurt. And when Max was telling Michael about how to be romantic.. and Tess comes in.. then Iz says she is a friend of hers from school.. Tess takes a soda and Iz said she would meet her in her room.. Tess then says, "don't forget the sugar"... I just found it strange that she is the only one with a hang up on sugar.. All the others podsters put Tabasco into their drinks... and on everything else..
I thought Iz was only kidding about the sweet and spicy thing, to shut up Maria... When Michael was eating the cake at the crashdown...
Well I am just depressed about Roswell not being new until Jan. 22.. School starts up on Jan. 16 and even then I have to wait another week.. HELP!

This is torture waiting for a new Roswell episode! I hate the hiatus season!
But my questions have pretty much already been covered. Why did 4 of the pods end up in NYC? Maybe because they knew they were defective, so let's just dump them in the sewers? And why did they get the message or whatever and not the Royal Four? It looked like there were 2 blips on that screen that Brody showed Max. And how did Nicholas know about the dups, exactly when did they contact each other? Why didn't Nasedo tell Max more about his past? I mean, jeez how is he going to avoid making the same mistakes, if he doesn't know what mistakes he made in his past life?
As for the mom-o-gram I found the original monologue on the cut scenes website, www.roswellscripts.com, and by the look of it, there were quite a few parts that were cut.
Here's the original monologue:
"My children, if you are seeing me now, it means you're alive and well, and there is hope for us all. I'm your mother. And I love you more than my life though we may never meet. I take this form because it will be familiar to you. Because it will help you understand what I am about to say. You have lived before. On a planet in a galaxy not yet discovered where you live now. I can see why the speech was cut, it was way too long, but it explains much more than what we got in the final aired version. Now we know their planet was peaceful, until Kivar came along and took control over it. I can see why she sent her kids to Earth, to protect the humans, since their enemy now live on Earth. They are counting on the pod squad to someday come home and free them. But that's an awful lot of pressure to put on your children, to try and save an entire planet.
Okay, this is going to be a really long post, by the look of it. I'll think of more questions later.
Well, I have come up with a few more questions.. Ok.. why is it that everyone else can remember the HOME planet... and not the podsters? I mean even the rejects.. They remember about the home planet.. they know a lot about things the podsters don't. and when Mom O Gram said to come back and free us.. UMMMMMM they are part human they are no longer the "royal four" because they have been combined with human DNA... so do they go back to their home planet as who they are.. Won't they stick out like sore thumbs? Just was weird to me for some reason. And when was Tess Max's love and inspiration, kinda sounds like Liz... Just weird.........
Well.. Hope we can all deal with the long await of a new show.. People on the other boards are getting a bit.. impatient..

It's a Long Way Home
Hey, IMM - when Destiny first aired, I had this mental image of the pod squad going home and living among a bunch of glowing, 3-feet-tall aliens and I kind of laughed. So, do you think they have to die and then be reincarnated as aliens? Or, better yet, if the aliens had the ability to bring them back as humans, wouldn't they have the ability to bring them back as aliens, too? So, if they have their alien DNA, why didn't they just whip up a batch of the originals?
I don't think the aliens counted on the podsters having a human side, that maybe they just needed the human form and didn't stop to think that they'd have human emotions, too. I'm sure they never counted on Max falling for a human.
I, too, find it strange that everyone they come across knows more about them than they do, and that Nasedo left them so clueless. Yes, I know it is so the show has a sense of mystery about what really went on, but c'mon. Someone clued in the sewer squad but not the real royal 4? Everyone who has a clue is quickly dismissed - Nasedo, Courtney. I personally would have made Ava stick around a little longer to get some more info. And she'd make a hell of a Crashdown waitress! :

What about that memory retrieval thing Tess knows how to do? Why haven't we seen that yet? I mean, it was mentioned way back in like episode 2, and yet no one has been curious enough to try it?

OHHH! Now I found the problem. WRITERS BLOCK! The writers forget they start something good and it never gets finished.

Who would have figured that!!
Oh okay.. yet another thing that has got me bothered.. (I been watching the past shows and now I have to think about them) Here goes.. In the Balance before Michael comes out of his webbing.. and he had his vision.. Max stops on the way to Michael because he sees Liz come into the circle.. Ok.. this was Michael's vision right? Then how the heck does Max have that same vision of Liz in his flashes when he kisses Liz in Blind date?? (Well its Liz seeing this from Max.. hmmm)Also when Nick m/r's Max in Wipe Out once again.. Max has Michael's vision in his head.. Michael standing among the symbols.. That was Michael's vision from The Balance Wow now we (women) know Max is good, real good.. I mean just WONDERFUL.. ok so I am getting carried away here, but umm I just had no idea he had such a connection to Michael!!!

I just don't know If I can handle these next two weeks with no new Roswell. This stinks..
As for Tina..hmm I too been wondering where she has been. You know school starts up soon and she must be getting in all she can before it starts up again. And planing a wedding. Oh come on, Piece of cake.. haha.. That takes no time at all..

I'm around, but not saying much, especially on threads such as these. Not too good for my state of mind to be asking all these questions that may never be answered. In a couple of weeks we'll have a new string of eppys coming our way and I'm sure this board will be smoking once again...

Hey my fav Roswell buddies! I'm here... I'm sorry I haven't been posting, I've been completely busy. I know, I know...no excuse...and I promise it'll get better and I'll begin posting more again. School has not started again for me yet....just work has been crazy lately. Also, we may be moving our wedding up to this summer rather than summer of 2002, so that's got us extremely busy trying to figure things out and getting things set.
I'm having new episode withdrawals! I can't wait for the next few weeks to go by so we can have a new eppy once again. I loved "The Miracle"...it was so awesome, much like the old, well-loved Roswell feel to it. Can't wait to see what happens with our star-crossed lovers in the next few eps to come. Let's hope for a reunion!
As for all these unanswered questions, I share a lot of the same that's already been mentioned. I will think of some more of my own and add them soon. I will also be adding some updates to the Season 2 episode pages and boards with episode descriptions and such soon, so stay tuned for that.

I'm glad to see these boards picking up again. They've been VERY quiet for about 3 weeks. Karen, Lisa, and Tina - it's good to see the good natured exchanges between you all and Brian start up again. Brian, that Emilie board you pointed us too is very quiet. I don't think there have been any posts on it since I signed up on New Years Day and you responded. Happy New Year everyone and I'll go back to my lurking.
