Sega and Nintendo
Ive been wondering lately.. as to why the FUCK Sega had to resort to giving Nintendo the lisence to produce some of their titles for the GameCube and Gamebody Advanced.. in some regards, i think of Sega as traitors now.. since i grew up with them, had the Sega Master System, then the Mega Drive (Genesis) and i seldom played them back in the day.. but, that was back in like.. 1996 or earlier, when Sega was ontop of the market, now that Sega isnt up the top anymore.. i can understand why they wouldnt have asmuch profits and all, but having to resort to merging with other companies.... meh, didnt impress me too much.
But, theres something i just observed, from the Gamebody Advanced.. i recently downloaded a few r0ms to play around with, one of them was the "Sega Smash Pack" which included the classic titles of.. Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic Spinball.. and i only have one thing to say..
WHAT THE FUCK!! (literally)
The Gamebody Advanced is supposed to be the most superior 32 Bit console (well, its close enough to being a console) on the market, which means its supposed to have better sound and graphics you'd believe right? well err.. WRONG, for these re-hashed Sega Games... they were absolutely horrid, the games ran slow and shitty, the sound quality was LESS then the Genesis, and the colours were generally fucked up or mis-placed.. so, for this.. i feel like giving Sega AND Nintendo a boot up the ass for wasting my time >.<..
Sega should've kept the Genesis on market, heh.. i'd say its superior to the Gameboy Advance in more then a few aspects.. but hey, thats just me and my experience talking..
EDIT: "Ecco the" what was i smoking? lol

You're absolutely right. With Contra 3, they removed the overhead stages and watered down everything else. It seems like the Game Boy Advance *is* more powerful than the SNES in the sense of speed and graphics, but with much less RAM. It seems older games require more resources that the GBA isn't build to provide.
I think Nintendo put too much focus preserving battery life. I wouldn't mind sacrificing an hour for a better quality gaming experience. Heck, I barely take advantage of GBA's portability, besides using it during #2. =P I pretty much just as it at home with the AC adapter.
Btw, GBA will have a rival soon. Check this article out:
"Tapwave, a company formed in May 2001, held a press conference to unveil a new handheld gaming device named Helix. Tapwave spent a lot of time attempting to understand the current demands of the handheld market and felt that there was no suitable portable gaming device for the 18- to 30-year-old crowd, or the "Game Boy graduates," as the company put it. Tapwave polled Game Boy Advance users to find out what they didn't like about the device. In addition, the company went to several developers to ask what they would want in terms of hardware and performance."
Re: Sega and Nintendo
Probably better off using it straight from the wall socket anyways, its not like your gonna go for a jog and play the GBA at the same time without looking up where you are jogging once. lol. Probably get KO'd from a car or truck. Heh.. but yeah.. i downloaded that Contra game Contra Advance - The Alien Wars EX mainly because, i remember Contra Hard Corps/Probotector on the Sega Genesis and it was fucking unreal.. but after playing that GBA version, damn.. i nearly lost my lunch, it was horrid.. controls sucked, and so did the Music.. the SFX were pretty nice, and the whole screen-movement thing was funky, but you cant play a game that has shitty Music AND Gameplay without wanting to stab it, heh.
Ive also heard about Sony going for the Portable Console market.. if they do, then Nintendo will be up the shit for sure..

I like my gba..... especially GOLDEN SUN!!!! that game kicks ass.... but I have to admit that some games for it are as bad as ff8 ....... but I think sega could have gone on and lost a few bucks but regained it the dreamcast was awesome...
