Should Dawezy go for teh PS2? The reason im asking is.. my pay has been hella sweet lately, and well, the PS2 has gone down dramatically in price.. soo... yeah, its around $300 (Auzzie dollars) and thats the cheapest ive ever seen it i beleive... i could get a pre-owned console for about $250, but, who knows what faults they might have within them. So yeah, heh.. should i scoop one up now? or wait a few more paychecks and get one anyway? with a few extra games. BTW, i wont be voting just yet, lol.Show results
if you got the money man go for it! some good games should be heading your way if not already there.....I don't know about where your at but damn Silent Hill 3 comes tomarrow!

Well i just got some prices today... the PS2 is going for like, $329 from this certain retail store.. so over the weekend i'll do a bit of searching and price checking, because i got like... just under $600 in my bank now, and its due for another $300 or so in my next paycheck, so yeh. I got nothin to lose, and at the moment im mainly going for it because of the DVD player. hehe.

Yes, yes i did get myself a PS2..
Got myself one of those newer models aswell, they operate with a quieter Power Fan, also has an inbuilt Infrared Receiver (for the DVD Remote, which i have) and has default support for DVDR/RW - CDR/RW, so i can play some music cd's that i have err "backed up" without any hassle, heh..
And i must admit, i am fucking well enjoying myself. all of the older FF titles work absolutely PERFECT!! (if not faster) on the PS2, you can even backup all the files on the PSOne Memory Card to the PS2 Memory Card without any hassle.
Oh, a price? i spent $378 (Auzzie Dollars) on a special deal.. had the new PS2+ Console, with a bonus pack on the side.. which had inside of it, an extra Shock Controller, Memory Card and DVD Remote.. not a bad damn deal if you ask me. DVD playback is nice aswell.

Since you got a newer model, you shouldn't have many if any DRE problems like mine and countless thousands of others. But other than that, the PS2 is a very good system. I've had mine for almost three years now.
