Should God be our first priority? Is he yours? I was just talking to Ashitaka tonight on ICQ and he asked me what I was into, and my response was... Morkai the Red: (10:32 PM) um well, my girlfriend is my first priority but after her, BW is my next love, then Tribes 2, which i just bought today and may become my second love if i get good at it then Ashitaka responded... Mr.Personality: (10:33 PM) God aint ur first priority??, its ok to say that, cause he aint mine but he reall should be.... then my response was... Morkai the Red: (10:34 PM) Yea he should be...lemme say that he does come second but your right he should come first So, should we put God above all material things? I think that we should, once Ashi mentioned it, but at first I didn't. (Sorry if this has been discussed before, I'm new here!) Dark Helmet AKA Justin |

My 2 cents
God should be first, for the most obvious reason I think, he created everything, so everything you like or love is resonsbile because of him. So it would be the most logical thing, since he created everything you like to do, and love.

Re: My 2 cents Yes, God should always be first. He's the one that allows you to have the things in your life that you enjoy. God could let you be too poor to even have a computer, or unattractive enough to not have a girlfriend. Instead you have enough money for a computer and computer games and you have a girlfriend. Those are all from God. He's the one that gave you those things in your life, so you should always hold Him above everything else because without Him, you wouldn't have anything else. You might try reading my post titled "What are idols?" (or something like that) from a week or two ago. It's probably on the second or third page now. It's a good reminder about placing material things above God. I must admit, however, that I don't always hold God as my first priority although I do try. I also make a habit of talking to God about any problems in my life. I ask Him for help and I thank Him for every good thing in my life. If I remember something that I needed to remember, I thank God; I don't just say, "I sure am lucky that I remembered that!". If you make it a habit to thank God for everything in your life and to turn to Him in your trials, you will soon be placing Him at the top of your priority list without even thinking of it.

i wish i wish i could say i put him first or even second, but the fact is i'm a complete failure, and this is no joke. every time recently that i've had to put God first i actively chose what i want do instead. I feel crap, and say 'Next time i'll do the right thing' but it does not happen. but i am grateful to God, cause for some strange unknown reason, i know He is still with me. on the face of it all, it would just seem that i'm lazy and self centered, and sure maybe i am, but what makes it worse is that some time ago i was putting God first, and i don't know why i let myself fall. |
