Sirius Black - Seventh Year (Unfinished)
Name: Sirius Black, Nicknamed Padfoot by his friends
Age: 17
Year: 7th
House: Gryffindor
Other: Beater on Gryffindor Quidditch Team

Description: Sirius is a tall, well built young man. He has longish dark hair (usually tied in a small ponytail), blue eyes that sparkle with mischief and a roguish smile that can charm almost anyone. He generally wears Muggle clothes when not in school to distinguish him from the rest of the Black family ... who most definitely disassociate themselves from anything to do with Muggles, including the clothes they wear. Sirius likes to follow the Muggle fashions, which is veering more towards punk and rock music with their associated fashions. He likes to wear his hair long to emulate the Muggle rock stars of the time, and loves his leather jacket.

Personality: Sirius is a prankster, and will act before he thinks (his hare brained plans get the whole group into trouble). Although he's friendly most of the time, Sirius has a
hot-headed and sometimes spiteful streak which is usually aimed at the Slytherins. He means his pranks to be harmless, but if you piss him off, he may take the joke a little
too far. The same goes if you mess with his friends; Sirius is fiercely loyal and his loyalties outweigh morals. To him, the worst thing you can do is to betray a friend, or a trust. Outgoing and bold, Sirius will try anything once.

Likes: Pranks, Quidditch, Girls, Motorbikes, his friends, Muggle punk/rock music, Leather

Dislikes: Betrayal, People who cant take a joke, Severus, Pure-blood 'insanity', his family

Family History: Sirius is pure-blood, from the Noble Family of Black. Sirius dislikes the majority of his family, as they are all obsessed with their superior status over 'lesser-borns'. He only likes some members of his family, such as his cousin Andromeda, as they are also disillusioned with the Black family view of the wizarding world. Sirius has never really had much contact with Muggles, so maybe does not understand all their customs. However, he is trying to learn more about them from those of his friends who grew up in the Muggle world.

Sirius had an unhappy childhood, especially from the age of eleven, when he was placed into Gryffindor, in comparison to the Blacks' traditional history of their children being placed into Slytherin. Pressure was put onto him as the eldest child to conform to his parent's ideals. He was 'matched' with desirable females and watched to see if they would be good potential political marriages for the family. There was a heavy emphasis on the Dark Arts, and even the house he lived in, in Grimmauld Place in London, showed the influences his parents tried to enforce upon him.

The only place Sirius really felt he could be himself was at school. He met James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, and together they formed the Marauders. He had a great time over the years with them, especially James, his best friend. There were many incidences of prank wars with the Slytherins, especially Severus Snape. Sirius could not avoid meeting Regulus and his cousin Narcissa, and the few times they had spoken had not been pleasant. Sirius harboured a hope that Regulus would see sense and not follow his parents wishes. The two brothers had been close as kids, only really growing apart when Sirius expressed differing opinions from his parents.

At the end of his sixth year, Sirius had a huge argument with his parents, where many insults were exchanged. Sirius had finally lost his temper, and his slight fear of what exactly his parents could do was obliterated by his anger. He stormed out of Grimmauld Place dragging his school trunk, vowing never to return, and being only 16, could not Apparate anywhere. He made it to Diagon Alley, where he stayed for a few days in the Leaky Cauldron to think about what he had done. He had no home, no security and no prospects beyond Hogwarts in September. He finally decided to take some action, and hesitantly sent James an owl from the Post Office in the Alley, detailing what had happened, and asking James' advice. This was hard for Sirius to do, as it was only a few months since the Prank had split the Marauders for a short time, and he knew James was still angry at him on Remus' behalf. James replied, offering a little support, and asking Sirius to come and visit him. Sirius took the Knight Bus to the Potters' house. There, the two boys slowly got back to a normality, and Sirius was offered a place for the summer with the Potters, which he accepted gladly.

In his absence, his younger brother Regulus was subjected to the same pressures Sirius had been under before he left home. Regulus had showed more signs of bowing to his parent's wishes than Sirius. Sirius had assumed this meant that Regulus was just as bad as his parents, but perhaps Regulus just didn't want to anger their parents further.
