Slug At The Pub
I was present at this recent Slug gig, and as usual they rocked. It really was a very cool night, many rockin' tunes, good friends and of course.......BEER!!!!! There's one thing I must comment on, playing of the rage against the machine song-killing in the name of, yeah the song may rock, but with what's going on in the middle east with our heroic troops risking their lives, and yet some paying the ultimate price, a song like this should not be played. We now have a man with morals in the white house in President George W. Bush, and thanks to him he is now cleaning up the mess that Bill Clinton left behind. Try to explain that song after Sept. 11, and the families that suffered the lost on that day. I just feel that this song is anti-american, with all of these anti-americans protesting what's going on in Iraq, that's just what these protesters just want to hear. Thanks to President Bush, the Iraqi people will be free, and just to think to tell a President with all of these morals "F--- You, I won't do you tell me," a man who defends his oath to his country, and said "my job is to defend the people of this country." Yeah, let us remember the last administration, when the president at the time was mr. clinton, 1. a man who lied under oath, and 2. did nothing after america was attacked by terrorist, and 3. this president was only worried about his sorry ass. This is why I have my reason for getting upset when I hear a song like this, it's anti-american, and a slap in the face to our brave troops overseas.
I agree! Don't play that song! At a time when we have our own loved ones fighting for what is morally right, overseas in the Middle East, fighting for our freedoms. Too many people are forgetting what they are blessed with here in America! Take a good look at what you have here in the United States.
WHAT??????
gimmie a @#%$ break, assholes...... it's only a @#%$ song what is this, the Rush Limbaugh website?? You two take yourselves way too serious!!!! maybe you should find another Dubya ass-sucking forum... leave Slug alone

What the frick?
Woody's right people. Besides, America is all about freedom of speech and Slug can play whatever fricken' song they feel like. The troops are slam dancing to that song- it doesn't seem to bother them!!!!
The Song
Let's get one thing straight my friend , I didn't put down Slug down in any way, if you read my post, I said "as usual they rocked." As for the term @#%$, you better look in the mirror, I was just placing my honest opinion. Also, if you noticed I said the song "rocked," it's just that now is not a good time to be playing a song with that type of message. And one last thing I have to say is " you candy ass jabroni, shut your mouth and know your role." I happen to be a personal friend of the band Slug, and yes I even told them of my opinion, and Erich once told me " can't listen to that song," and we laughed. Every so often we joke about it. So, my two friends, you should just chill out, get a life, look at what's going on out there, and after this we can all get a good laugh.
HUH???
c'mon, russ.....candy ass jabrony? let's get one thing straight. I signed my real name - everybody knows me. You did not, so who's hiding behind the almighty monitor? not me. so, my ultra-consertvative friend, next time we meet, we can rock & roll for real. or, we can keep politics out of music. try stating your opinion in "letters to the faakin editor" see ya soon

Politics & Rock & Roll
What a bunch of whiners! I love Rage Against The Machine, its the perfect adrenaline-pumping, headbanging, lets-go-kick-some-ass song. There is no such thing as "Appropriate" in Rock & Roll. And I think Politics SUCKS!
