Snape knew the Pettigrew betrayed the Potters!!!!!
or maybe JKR just messed up. The Death Eaters knew that Pettigrew was the Potter's Secret-Keeper, right. Well wasn't Snape pretending to be a Death Eater so he could spy for Dumbledore...? But he didnt tell Dumbledore because he hated James Potter!
Re: Snape knew the Pettigrew betrayed the Potters!!!!!
Maybe Voldemort already suspected that Snape wasn't true to him, so he only told his most trusted Death Eaters. Also, where did it say anything about the other DEs knowing that Pettigrew was the secret keeper?

IIRC, the Death Eaters didn't know who the secret keeper was, becasue next to no one knew. So Snape didn't know, either. Besides, we don't know at what point he started working for the good guys.

No Death Eater knew who all the other Death Eaters were. That way, if one was captured, he couldn't be forced to reveal the entire organization, only the handful of members he knew about. And given that under Crouch Sr the Aurors started using Unforgivable Curses against the Death Eaters, that's a major concern. Only Voldemort knew who all the Death Eaters were. And I believe he was the only one who knew about Pettigrew.
Here's one other thing to think about. Remember, Dumbledore said they had used the Fidelius Charm because one of his spies had warned them that Voldemort was after them. And who do we know of that was spying on Voldemort for Dumbledore at the time? That's right, Snape. I tend to think that he would be very quick to report any threat to James, because Snape hated the idea of being in his debt.

You've got a good point there Sir Red XlV. I'm sure that Snape wouldn't let James get killed if he had known about Pettigrew. I mean remember what he said to Fudge in the fourth book? He seemed very defensive of Harry if you ask me. Not to mention Dumbledore.
