Re: Sorceror's Stone?
Yeah, I know, I got the Philosopher's Stone and I was talking to my friend on the phone about it, and she referred to the book as Sorcerer's Stone, so I was like, What?? Are you sure you got that right? We both didn't quite believe each other when we said what was on our book covers. Dumb Scholastic. Changed the name and added Dean Thomas to the Sorting. Ugh.

Re: Sorceror's Stone?
Grrr. That makes me mad! "Sorcerer's Stone" is no easier to understand, and doesn't even mean anything. The Philosopher's stone is an ancient legend! I'd say all they acheived is making themselves look dumb and offending intelligent American readers who do know what it should have been.

Um... go to your Control Center and put a link there? I learned all of my HTML from page sources. But I don't suggest you look at this page's. You won't learn a thing. It's all in a string of nonsense. I know I can't make anything out of it.

MWAHHAHA! and my mom said the UK books are cheaper because they have lousy covers! and I have the UK 3rd book, and that's mhow I know, and JKR changed the 1rst books name, not scholastic.I chatted with JKR on scholastic.com, so I should know. And yes they did add dean thomas to the sorting.

The elephant said, with tears in his eyes,

Re: Sorceror's Stone?
I think it's really sad that they thought Americans were too dumb to understand the Brittish words so they changed them. Kids all over America got the Brittish versions of previous HP books so they could get them sooner and didn't care. What's this about adding someone to the sorting? Please explain, I'm new to HP

Re: Sorceror's Stone?
About the changes in the books, I wass reading the 4th one and notice a litlle change. For those of you who have read the US version, when Mr. Weasly had to pay the muggle at the camp grounds, he asked harry to help him out with muggle money, and he was reffering to american dollars, instead of english pounds.
