Anybody know what were the standard and optional steering wheels for a `70 rr?I need a pic too. Also would an optional wheel show on the fender tag or just the broadcast sheet?

steering wheel .
std wheel would be a black 3 spoke wheel , horn button depends on interior order , and body type , base RR coupe with taxicab interior would have a padded round button ?? ( not sure about 70 , definitely a 68 -69 thing .

as far as optional wheel , the 3 spoke simulated woodgrain wheel is it and it would only be coded on the buildsheet , not on the fendertag .

Re: steering wheel .
A 70 B body wheel is different than the earlier ones....it has a slight texture to it and the center is different. The horn ring is integrated into the center part which has some padding and in the very center, is a small round plastic "RoadRunner" bird. A decent uncracked 70 wheel is very difficult to find, as I spent two years trying to find one for my Superbird.

Re: steering wheel .
My 70 is of the 3 spoke configuration, padded and the center lense over the standing bird. Galt is correct.

I found a 2 part material from Eastwood that is supposed to repair the cracks in the wheel. Paint over it supposed to look like new! I was going to start that project when I get around to diving into the ignition issue in the same column.

steering wheel question
Do you have the web address to Eastwood? (or phone if no www). I'm not familiar with them and am looking to restore some steering wheels.
