Still the best
Even after reading book 4, I have to say, Prisoner of Azkaban is still my favorite so far. I think part of this is the insight into Harry that we haven't really seen before. I love Lupin, too. And hearing his mom and dad, that's just, well, touching. And the patronus. I could go on and on and on! Oh, and Snape bumping his head on the ceiling. Does anyone else feel this way? Perhaps it was because this book was a good combination of light and dark, whereas I felt Book 4 didn't have as much light-hearted stuff in it to balance the dark. Not that I minded, really, but I still like book 3 the best. And when Sirius asks if Harry wants to live with him, I seriously cried the first time and teared up the second time I read it. *sniff* Perhaps it's just that I felt for Harry, in wanting someone who cared about me to come and take me away from a bad family situation. (I mean, I know I don't have it THAT bad, but it still sucks right now.)

Hogsmeade, a place to meet and mingle with your fellow wizards
This book wasn't my favourite out of the four, but I loved it too Ping
I love finding out about Harry's past, because there's so much interesting history involved and yep, I was actually, really happy when Sirius offered Harry a home. It was so sweet.. And I really liked Lupin, I was so annoyed when he resigned. He was the only datda teacher who really seemed to give a damn about the kids, and he helped Harry's class overcome their fears at least a little bit when dealing with the Boggarts. The bit about Harry's mum and dad, I agree, was touching
I liked hearing about Hogsmeade and Azkaban, other wizard places apart from Diagon Alley and Hogwarts. Hope your current situation gets better
Re: Azkaban
Ping...Oh, I totally agree with you about "Azkaban." I haven't finished "Goblet" yet, but so far the 3rd book is by far my favorite. I just loved the last few chapters...how everything just seemed to come together in the end. (I wrote about this in another post, for those of you who think I'm repeating myself....) And I cried, too, when Sirius asked Harry to live with him. Those Dursleys are so mean!!!!! I saw a kid at the beach that reminded me of what I think Dudley would look like. I couldn't help but laugh! (I liked the part in "Goblet" when Fred & George gave Dudley the Ton-Tongue Toffee...that was priceless!)
Re: Azkaban
You know, I loved the Goblet of Fire cause it shows what I love most, Dark against Good, and JKR has a very good way of showing us how good it can be, after all that Superman, Batman crap, harry potter brings the best out of it, and I think Azkaban is the second best book in the series, but I still think Goblet of Fire is the best.
Re: Still the best
I agree with Ping. I loved the prisoner of azkaban. It was by far the best one. It all made since at the end about Sirius and stuff. I loved Lupin! He was the best! But I did find two problems in the book. First, in the begining when Aunt Marge comes she stays for a week and she comes on Harry's birthday which is july 31st. Harry leaves on the last day of her stay and goes to the Leaky Caldron. He stays there for two weeks and the term starts again but term starts on september first and it was only three weeks from july 31st to september 1st. We're missing a week here!
Second, at the end when Lupin is looking at the map he took from Harry wouldn't he not only see Harry, Ron, and Hermione going to Hagrid's but Harry and Hermione when they went back in time?

Re: Still the best
I have read books 1 & 4 two times each and books 2 & 3 one time each. Book three is definitely the best book. I don't think I've ever read a book as good as it. If you hsven't read it DO!!!
