Studying
Brett had applied for every class that had a teacher and he had plenty of work to be done. He sat in a great arm chair working steadily on his homework, trying not to fall asleep. He started to drift off and a book slid out of his lap and crashed to the floor. He jumped up out of his seat and saw everyone else in the commonroom was laughing at him. He laughed at himself and apologized to everyone, returning to his work.
Felicity, who was taking refuge from her usual post in the Library (mostly avoiding Whitney), she saw the awkward first year boy drop his books. Stifiling her laughter she went over to sit near him, "Don't you think your work load is a little heavy for a first year?" She asked with a raised eyebrow and a friendly smile.

Brett looked up at the girl who had approached him and smiled. He looked down at his books and nodded.
"Well yes, I suppose for the normal student this would be a heavy load. For me though, this isn't even a fraction of the classes my mother wishes me to take," he said sighing.
Re: StudyingFraction of the classes his mother wants him to take? she wondered to herself all the other mysterious First Year classes there could be as the load was typically light for a First Year.
"You know..." she started gently, "I didn't think there were that many courses available for a First Year. What does she want you to do? Study up on them before you have the course and she'll test you at the end of the year?" she laughed at her own joke, and reminised at how her own Father could be very tough on her.

Brett grinned at her joke and shook his head a bit.
"Well my mother wanted me to take every class that Hogwarts currently has but some of the teachers are missing in action. Moreover I am taking Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes, Flying and Divination. All in a day's work m'lady," he said with a grin plastered on his face but there was a tiredness in his eyes that an 11 year old should never know.

Felicity heard 'Flying' ring in the air, "Time management my friend... time management..." she winked at him, something that would make any boy, young or old go weak in the knees. "Say, you said your'e taking flying... are you any good?"
"I'm ok, why, are you going to try to get me to join the team? I was actually thinking about doing just that to be honest," he said with a silly grin from her wink.
((I actually was going to think about joining. I just started thinking about it earlier.))

Felicity's expression perked up when he commented that he was thinking of joining the team, "I'm the Captain of the Hufflepuff team. Stop by our practice tomorrow evening and bring your broom. If you don't have one we'll have to let you borrow one of the school's until you get your own."
Realizing she needed to get into the Library, she stood up, "I have to get some studying in before the night gets old. Will I see you there tomorrow?"

Brett smiled at the girl and nodded. He didn't have a broom so he would have to use theirs.
"Count me in, and I'll see you tomorrow," he said in a relatively good mood now. He took his things up to his room and laid them out on his four poster, still working on what was left of his homework.
