Table Decorating?? Hello, I am going to decorate our "Christmas Table" this year and was wondering if you have any suggestions as to what I could do. It will be set for my family of 5. I have a couple ideas but would love to experiment and really make a pretty table this year. Any ideas??? Thanks

Aja,
Hello! We like to decorate the table with greenery. Fresh cut from the yard and then it is neat to use floating candles in a dish put in the midst of the greenery. Little snowballs can be made out of parafin wax. You have to melt the wax and then when it is cooled, yet still in liquid form, take a old mixer or hand wisk and beat is to form a froth. Let this cool some, then when you can handle it in your hands take a candle wick (you can make your own...by using heavy cotton string dipped in your liquid wax a few times. Hang and let dry and set.)and form a snowball around it. Put the candles in a clear dish and float them. This looks really pretty with the lights dimmed down. The main idea here is to keep the snaowballs lightly packed when forming them so they can float. That is why the wax is whipped to add air and help with the floating. This is an inexpensive way to add to your table a pretty touch. Have fun!! Mrs Lyn |

I thought I better say .....make sure the wax is very cooled before whipping. Also use a paper plate as a splatter guard if using an old electric mixer. If you want to use a mixer an old hand mixer form a garage sale or re-sell shop is best. DO NOT USE MOTHER'S GOOD MIXER! To all **young readers....Have Mother help you. It is a good mother-daughter project. God Bless Mrs Lyn Edited by: Mrs Lyn |

Even though it's past Christmas, I love to have my family's table decorated. Even if it's just candels and a flower arrangment. I also really like to light the candels at dinner time! So there's my take! God Bless, Blooming in His Care or Jenny |
