Teen Voting?
I saw on the Houston news last night that a state representative from Houston, Ron Wilson, plans to propose an amendment lowering the minimum voting age to 14. Is this really such a good idea as he claims it to be? When you were 14, do you think you or your friends were qualified to vote?

Teen Voting
I'm not sure that is a good idea. When I was that age, I was too easily influenced by what other people thought I should think. I doubt that most teens are interested in or informed on critical issues well enough to vote on them. Some, maybe, but they would be the exception. That's tough enough for us so-called adults!

Re: Teen Voting
If the school actually added a class where this teen could actually keep up with politics and all their workings, they might be able to make a sound decision. Hopefully at their young age they could make a difference early so that their life as adult might be a little easier. But in this day and age some teen can't decide what to wear from one day to the next much less make a decision about their future.
