The Blood stained sand... (Gina!)
While the pigeons in the church fluttered and cooed, Lola slowly dragged herself out passed the threshold of the door. Budd had assumed she had been killed by the shot but fortunately for her she had dodged it so it hit her shoulder. One of her luckier days.
As Lola limped across the sand she noticed her blood starting to trickle from her wound and hit the dusty floor. She gave a tired cry before tumbling to the floor holding her badly wounded shoulder tightly.
(Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel play)
Lola lay in the dirt looking up at the sky, her heart beat slowing as she watched the vultures in the sky circle. She wasn't dying, she knew that much, but she could feel her will to live slowly slipping away. She had failed. That was all that swirled around in her mind. She never failed; but this time she did.
She blinked as the harsh sunlight was blocked out by the figure of somebody... who was it? She could recall who they were at first but after some thought she remembered... Madam X.
