The Game Title : The Hobbit
The Timeline : 60years before LOTR.
The Location : Hobbiton ….
The Objective : Bilbo Baggins lives a quiet, peaceful life in his comfortable hole at Bag End. Bilbo lives in a hole because he is a hobbit—one of a race of small, plump people about half the size of humans, with furry toes and a great love of good food and drink. Bilbo is quite content at Bag End, near the bustling hobbit village of Hobbiton, but one day his comfort is shattered by the arrival of the old wizard Gandalf, who persuades Bilbo to set out on an adventure with a group of thirteen militant dwarves. The dwarves are embarking on a great quest to reclaim their treasure from the marauding dragon Smaug, and Bilbo is to act as their “burglar.” The dwarves are very skeptical about Gandalf's choice for burglar, and Bilbo is terrified to leave his comfortable life to seek adventure. But Gandalf assures both Bilbo and the dwarves that there is more to the little hobbit than meets the eye.

Awesome Thain!
Could you perhaps outline what will be different from the plot of the book? It might make it easier to find our wy around the RPG.

Sorry I have had a busy time of late, new room mates, new pets (2 Dogs) and a new site design. The game should start tomorrow at which time I will also post a basic game plan to help you.
If you follow the book at the start you should go well it's not until we leave the shire that things change.

When...
When exactly are we going to start deviating away from the book???

When asked if she really had nothing on in her famous calendar photgraph of the early 1950s, Marilyn Monroe, her eyes widening, purred,"I had the radio on."
Re: When...
My next post will take us up to bilbo meeting the group to leave the shire, then its up to us on what direction the game takes. Our aim is still to get the treasure but how we get it will remain a mystery?
We still need more players, which has been why I have been taking my time on moving the story forward.
