Chang Ki Chek was promising plenty. He was the new ruler. Fifty Years ago Tri was born. They came to check his size. They looked at his Mother. "He is a Male Child and therefore allowed to live"...They kept watching her...Girl infants are placed on the Dung Heap. Occassionally in his early life, they would come and check his genitals and comment on the size. They didn't know, they said. By the time Tri was Three, they said his Mother had to go work in the fields. Chang Ki Chek Hated women. Some were dragged down the street and some were taken to the fields to be worked to death. Chang Ki was neither man or woman. He had a full set of both. Chang Ki bore three infants and killed them upon birth because they were not his. He wanted a child of his own but could not Master the procreation. Mr. Dang took his wife and son and fled back to Romania. They lived for there for three weeks before his wife was shot down in the streets. Chek's Henchmen had caught up with them. They looked at Tri and said, "The Child of such a Woman must Die Also". The military was coming and the murderers ran. Tri's father grabbed him by the hand and they headed south. Tri refers to this as 'The Lonesome Highway' He missed his mother sorely. South Vietnam was considered safe. At first, they lived in peace, Then Ho Chi Mien Came, Bringing Communism. Tri lost his father in the Conflict.
