The Stranger At the Gates A loud echoing knock rung out within the room for the doors which held the entrance to the castle had been rapped upon by an unknown figure. The dark of night covering its approch and its reason for apearing unknown. Who will greet this wanderer, and with open arms or fangs bared. Signed, Youll find out, im sure. |

Stranger @ the Gates
Slowly behind him down the hill the black gates of the castle closed, howls of wolves filling his ears from around the castle...
The chill of the wind ran past him with a push as if someone was pushing him... Within the castle odd sounds echoed through the halls as time seamed to tick by for him... As the wind rushed by once more it swiftly feel from its push as the thick castle door slowly opened. A small slender form appearing within the crack of the door. This form a woman, pail and clawed in black, thigh length hair swaying with waves down to her thighs a look of mystery upon her ghost blue eyes... "Hello?" The voice soft, liquatic in its ways despite the oddity of the accent that fell from her tongue. |

Greetings The man lifted his head as the brim of his hat shown his pale face hidden behind the streaks of his black hair, a small smirk appearing at the corners of his mouth. He stood at least 6 feet tall dressed in black with a heavy winter coat wrapped around him as if he had been traveling for some time, a small silver cross peaked out from the collar of his shirt. "Greetings." He replied, his voice very plain and yet very respectful towards the young woman. "Allow me to introduce myself." He began, "I was traveling when I saw a distant light, I was in hopes to find shelter the weather does not blow in a favorable fashion." he slowly tipped his head back further revealing his deep blue eyes as his black hair dangled before his face. "My name is Tim, I am known as the wanderer and I have seen many distant places. I would be fore then happy to share my insight with you for a dry corner to sleep in." He stopped looking at the young woman, waiting for her reply as she seamed stunned for some strange reason. All he could do was stare back at her awaiting a reply. |

Re: Greetings NightAngel looked up to this 6 foot man, her own height only standing perhaps 5'6" or 7". Despite this height difference she felt no sensation of fear or discomfort. Not like a few others would... After he had finished speaking a small unteasing smile twisted upon her crimson black lips, her actions more than welcoming as she stepped to the side. Slowly opening the door as she pressed her body against the doors side, keeping the wind from blowing it open. However, Her actions had also given the hint that she may be hiding something behind her back... The virgin night sky was beginning to darken. The clouds moving into thick black clumps over the sky as they gave more then a mere promise of the coming rain... The sound of the near ocean slapping against jagged cliffs echoed out upon the wind that danced over the lands... Once more pressing against the stranger. "All strangers are welcome here." She spoke, simple as she awaited his entrance. The darkness continuing to play in her favor, casting shadows over her, hiding her full appearance from his eyes... Edited by: NightAngel of Darkness |

My Thanks "Thank you Mi'lady." He said as he slowly crossed the doorway's arch. He took a look around the room, as he took off his hat letting his shoulder length black hair fall, He slowly brushed the strands from his face and set down a large black bag he had been carrying. "I thank you for this hospitality. It has been a long time since I have stayed somewhere dry for the night." He smirked thinking of his good misfortune. "I have little to offer to you, but I can give what I have." He slowly turned toward the woman and pulled a card from his pocket, The Queen of Cups it read. The card depicted a Woman sitting on a throne in the middle of a lake, she had white wings and was shinning with brilliance. "This card led me here, it said I would find compassion within these walls. thus this card now belongs to you." He slowly handed the woman the card and picked up his bag. He looked around the room once more, as he slowly started to walk. waiting for her to lead him, to wherever they were going. "While I may not be a rich man, some may say I have the talent of one." Signed, The Wanderer. |

Wandering If he looked around he could feel warmth and see wide open spaces. The doors to the rooms on the left and right wide open... The left room holding a large fireplace that burned on the far wall. Wolves curled up, seemingly asleep before the fire upon a thick rug. To the right another large room, similar to the one on the left. However, designed for comfort... a place for chit chat. Ahead of them a large set of stone stairs, at the top the stairs split to move on both sides... vanishing into large arched holes in the stone... Night accepted the card studying it for a moment before she delivered a nod of thanks... "Let me show you to your place of warmth..." Night moved pushing the door closed and latching it tight, checking the lock once more before she moved to show him the way... It was then he could see an oddity in her grace...It was then she turned, without awaiting your answer. The secret was shown as black feathered wings held folded tight against her back, the lacing's of her dress showing enough flesh to keep the dress on and the wings unbound.... The pail flesh lined with blackish tattoos, almost Egyptian in there appearance, there meaning silent as the fabric held the secrecy of something more.... The long tips of her wings dragging along the lengthy train of her black velvet dress... As they made there way up and through the multiple candle lit hallways she paused. A series of doorways occupied the entire hallway. Night moved down the hall, hands out slightly; palms facing towards the hall walls... They reached the end, a soft sigh falling from her lips before she moved onward; leading him up a twisting stairwell and down another hallway... her hands out once more as if feeling for something before she stopped in the middle of the hallway... Eyeing a door she smiled pressing a hand against the thick wood... "Well now, it is about time I find an un-occupied room..." Night let out a soft chuckle before unlocking the door with a key from the chain that hung at her waist... Drawing the key free from the chain she placed it into his hand, her flesh cold... yet soft... Finally, she turned, pushing open the doors she stepped in. Candles lighting swiftly, the shadows retreated... The beauty of the mistress clear and defined.... A deaths kiss to any mortal soul... Edited by: NightAngel of Darkness |

In Awe The man seamed both surprised at such comfort and at the same time glad to have happened apon this opportunity. He walked into the room looking around at the many lit candles wondering how they were to become burning... he set his bag down on the bed as he removed first another set of cloths, followed by a rather large bound book. looking almost as if it was made of wood. I then pulled forth a box, he opened it to reveal a large deck of Cards. he turned to look at the lady and spoke. "Pardon my ignorance, but what is your name?" He then took the cards and shuffled them as if he had done it all his life, the cards were wore and looked as though time had forgotten them. "As i said before i dont have much to pay for such a home, however, i do have a talent that afords me some good." He motioned to a table as he sat on one side and shuffled the cards again. He motioned to the lady to take a seat across for him, she did so folding her wings to make sure not to cause a breeze. "Tell me one thing about you, and i shall unravel the mystery's of time around your life." The man pulled his black hair back as he set the deck of cards on the table in front of her, as if waiting for her to cut them. |

Silent whispers I watched you, studying your actions as your hands fondled and shuffled the old worn out cards. I had done what you had asked, siting to the chair shifting my wings slowly to lay upon the floor in a limp fashion... they did not bend well if folded... Shifting once more I pushed my thigh length hair to the side its waves swaying against the chair hanging close to the floor, the deep brown color dancing with other colors as the candle light shimmered... "I am called NightAngel..." There was a moment before I answered you farther... "There is no need for you to pay in anyway, all I ask of you is to help clean up after supper... Just as the others do..." I turned my head, glancing at the door before watching him once more a hand resting fingertips to the top of the cards... eyes closed before I cut them... Speaking as I did so... "I am mearly me..." |

The Game at Hand He smiles at this face sitting before him as he takes the cards once more. "I would be glad to help clean up after supper." As he said this he slowly turned the first card. The 2 of wands. A card depicting two people male and female standing side by side working together toward a single goal. "Partnership will be your making and breaking point within this world, have you found such a partner?" He turned the second Card. The Ace of Swords. A card filled with fire and two men battling over an open chasm. "Strife comes before you, watch for your own conflict within yourself causing your partner to flee." He took a small pipe from his coat pocket and took it between his lips, he held it there as he continued to work the cards in his hands, hands that seamed to have survived centuries of erosion, not rouge but smooth as glass. He turned the next card. The Emperor. A card with a man high on a throne looking down on those beneath him. yet with both power and a calmness and pleasantness to his grace. "A man who holds power over you will decide this fate, perhaps not one that you wish to hold power over you. but none the less he does." He turned the last and final card. The Ace of Cups. A card with nothing on it but water. rippled in the shape of a heart. "Love will be the decision maker here. One way or another, Love will intervene. Be wary of both men, for they may be what stand between you and happiness." With that he put the cards back onto a pile and set them back inside his bag. he smiled that he had given angel what little insight he had to offer, if she only knew the truth about this man and his "cards". |

Re: The Game at Hand As he flipped the cards and spoke their tail her face was blank. She watched him with a hint of curiosity and yet humor... She respected his talent and spoke nothing of it... "I do not have a ball and chain in my life dear stranger. I see no problems." With that she gave a wink and stood to her feet, taking one of his hands within her hands she smiled... her touch gentle, hands cold... "I must depart to ready supper, it will be a pleasure to have another soul within these walls..." Night's time stopped visions flashing through her mind, it was of him... suffering something terrible... screams of agony echoing through her head... the pain sharp enough to draw a crystal like tear from her eye before she could find the gap to snap out of it.... She had not known how long she had been standing there, for her it seamed like ten or fifteen minutes.... For him... four or five seconds.... |

Mysteries of truthfullness The Wanderer looked at this young lady, knowing that where she may feel that she is not connected to anyone that she truly is. even within her memories there holds something she must not forget. for when tall dark strangers appear, nothing is for certain. "to dinner then" he said "What is being prepared for tonight? I would be most interested in a hot meal." He watched as dark lead him from the room and began her way to the dining hall. "So, where did you get those wings? if you don't mind my asking. I'm not used to see such things." He smiled at the thought of feathers brushing across skin and the feel off their soft silkiness. |

To Supper
"I have some chicken boiling..."
Night paused for a moment thinking as she wondered what else to cook... "Spiced chicken and potatoes... warm enough for you?" She questioned him before chuckling softly to herself. Her wings shifting loosening from her back. The barren flesh of her back becoming easily visible through the criss-cross of velvet straps... The Egyptian symbols running over with a hint of crimson before returning black... "I was born with them dear stranger..." She answered simply, before turning her head to look back at him, her long locks hiding part of her face from view before she continued on... Her mind roamed catching wind of something upon the air... {for when tall dark strangers appear, nothing is for certain.} A smirk fell upon her soft lips as she moved down the stairs... Uncertanty of night "Chicken? and Potatoes?... My i ahve not had such fine food in oh so long." He licked his lips as he stared back at her. A starnge wind blew from behind him and picked up the corners of his coat. A chill ran down the hallway and the lights shuttered to a stop. "Perhaps we should hurry, i do not think this bodes well." He hurradly rushed down the hallway stopping only to pick up the young lady and rush down the stairs into the main hall once more, The large doors which were locked now stood open, the snow and wind pouring fourth from them. As he set her down on the steps he said "I fear i may have brought something horrid with me, forgive me i thought i had lost it long ago." His face turned almost to stone, the look of determination chizzled on his face. He pulled his coat around him and moved to shut the doors.... |

The Darkness Lives He pushed on the doors as the very ground started to rumble. The walls seams to move and the earth wished to jump. He barred the doors as quickly as he could, a look of fear and terror ran across his face as he realized just what had befallen the Castle. He turned to the girl and say but one word... "Run." Without another moments notice a window burst open as the lights in the room went out.. a blackness that could only be described as shadows without a figure to be falling from, slithered along the walls and floor. The man turned back to face this darkness he pulled with one hand a sword from his belt which had not been seen before, with the other he pulled a card form his pocket. "Escape.... shall never come to you Nemos..." The blackness seamed to hiss. "I shall track you down and destroy all that you touch as payment for your tracheary." The blackness seams to take form as if a lake turning into an ice sculpture. It took the form no mortal would ever care to see but one of a Demon, its body twisted and cruel still made of sheer darkness which no light could shine though, it seamed to pull the images of its form from those around it diving into their nightmares and pulling forth what it found hidden within the folds of their mind. it hissed once more... "Nemos, what will you do this time? Run once more and let those you loved and cared for die? Or take your place among my legion?" The man in black stood facing the demon not answering nor moving all he did was hold the sword at guard and outstretched this card. "What is this a parlor trick?" the demon responded. "You shall see Uladreal." Without further announcement the card sprang forth an arc of light, forming chains that bound the figure still as if they held a strange power over it. "Begone Uladreal, I wish not for you to harm these people for they have shown me kindness and I shall not run from you again." With that the form returned as shadow and slipped out the window once more. The man in black fell to one knee as he caught his breath. he turned to see if the lady was still there, and waiting for the questions he knew would have to be answered. Re: The Darkness Lives As the daemon jumped out the glass window oddly went back into place. Each part returning as if it had never been broken... The candles began lighting the hall... Night did not want to be seen in the fashion she was in at the moment... No one had seen her like this before... Not for a long while... Turning she grabbed the folds of her dress and ran up the stairs, her barren feet taking her faster... The scent of blood upon the air, the black feathers flying from the pool of feathers at her feet... The light of the candles betrayed her, lighting her form as she ran up the stairs spikes descending down her back holding the tips of her now, scale like wings. Claws on her heals clicked as she ran before she took upon the balls of her feet... Her long hair hiding her dangerous looking face... Hair blowing around two protruded ivory horns from her head... Endgame? The man turned to see Night climbing the steps, he could do nothing but fall to his other knee, his strength had left him. Words seams to barely escape his mouth. "I'm sorry...." With that he fell to the stone floor, almost as if he had somehow been wounded. Night ran off into dark seclusion as he lay upon the cold hard stone. The smell of hot food almost enticing his nostrils, He pulled from his coat.. a picture of a young woman, Hair dark brown around her deep green eyes. he stared into the picture, then he closed his eyes and lost consciousness. (ooc) I recommend you set up the next one with his awakening... wherever that may be. |
