Vicki, I definitely agree! What an OUTSTANDING performance by our beloved JB!!! In fact, everyone was great in this episode, very emotional and intense...in a word--AWESOME!!! One of my favorites. I loved how he freaked out screaming, "NO!! NO!!!" when they showed him the (fake) picture of Liz bleeding and dead...Jason did such a great job with that emotional moment of fear/anger/sadness/pain for Max.
So, have you come up with any names for his own personal award from Alien Encounters on this performance???

And worth every penny. I completely agree with you Vicki and Neeners, the entire cast's performance was outstanding. That scene where JB lost it will stay in my thoughts for a very long time. I have seen this episode several times and everytime it comes to the point where he is screaming from the electrical shocks and when he sees Liz dead, I cringe. What a performance he gave throughout this episode.
This episode revealed a lot about Tess and Nasedo. I'm sure we will get more info in Season 2.

Dagnabit, I forgot about the Emmy. Yes, he was overlooked big time. We have to come up with a name for the best Overlooked by the Emmy In Crowd, Outstanding and Definitely Shoulda Won One Performance by an Actor in a Dramatic Role. Will put my thinking cap on.

It looks as though I am in the minority here, but White Room didn't do anything for me. True, the actors had stellar preformances, but the way the episode was edited and put together didn't appeal to me.
The torture scenes for example -- did anyone else think that it would have been MUCH better if half of it didn't look like a music video? They had that music playing over everything, so instead of us getting into the scene itself, with perhaps some haunting instrumentals in the background, you have the loud vocal music with shots of Jason. Not good.

I just read an article at the Crashdown and Jason says this is his favorite episode. He really liked doing the episode and says everyone gave a great performance, I have to say I totally agree with him!
I am going to a bookstore and getting the latest issue of Expose magazine, that's where this article is from!

Marice.I believe there is another article in Teen (Nov. issue) with Roswell 3 aliens on the front. Inside Jason talks about the White Room that they filmed in and how hard it was to do those scenes. He says it was his favorite episode and I also have to agree it was his best performance. He gives his all for every episode and is exceptional, however, the White Room is outstanding. I give a lot of credit to the directing of Johnathan Frakes and so does Jason. The directing coupled with the actors (Jason/Max and David/Pierce)fine performances, as well as the rest of the cast, is what made this episode work so well. I hope Frakes is going to direct more episodes in the future. I didn't notice the music too much, I was so wrapped up in the story and the fabulous performances of the actors. As hard as it was to see Max suffer, I was blown away by this one.

I have to say this is probably my favorite episode from last year. I was a late comer (started watching around "Sexual Healing" - isn't my timing great?), so it was really the first time I saw JB's acting prowess. Wow - it just blew me away. I think it was the subtle way he played Max's fear - there was no hysteria, but the fact that you could hear him breathing nervously made you nervous. Bravo!
Anyway, speaking of that torture scene, does anyone know the name of that song that is played during that part? I thought it was a wonderful use of the music, and that the fact we couldn't hear him scream made it all the more wrenching. If anyone knows the name of the artist or the song, I'd appreciate it!!
