The numbers game, is this the original engine?
I have 2 questions regarding numbers...

First, is this the correct engine for this car?

I bought a 1969 rr with the vin number... #RM21H9G253886

Engine numbers are as follows:

Casting numbers... 2468130-7
LL
4*24*68

Engine serial number... # PT383R24660453

Engine pad numbers... D383
4 30
R

The pad was located on the passenger side of the engine

Second question...

I found a build sheet in the rear seat frame with a VIN# RM21H9G254529 Why is this different from the VIN on the dash...Is the back seat possibly out of a different RR or is this normal?

Thanks in advance guys and gals, I am new to the board and will be checking it out now that I have the car I have always wanted.

Is the "pad" on the passenger side of the engine the one that's right above the oil pan? That's the pad that should have at least the last part of your VIN on it....if it's not there, it's unlikely that you have the original engine. If there is a large blank space on that pad, then you might have a "warranty" replacement block...not uncommon. Your trans should also have a pad on the passenger side, with the last part of your VIN also.
Finding a build sheet for another car in yours is quite common. I had 4 build sheets in my AAR, 2 correct ones and two for other cars. My 68 Roadrunner had 3 build sheets....two correct, which were behind the rear seat and under the front seat, and an incorrect one, which was under the rear seat, as yours was.
Good luck with your new toy!
