The other schools..,
I absolutely love the idea of there being different wizardry schools apart from Hogwarts! Anyone else agree? I hope Rowling will include them in the later books, but I don't think she will. I wonder if they do student exchanges?
oh yeah...
read the post below- this one was a wrong first post of the double post. i pressed submit too quickly...

oh yeah...
I forgot about that! Damn. Oh hang on, didn't Fleur Delacour say she might try and get a job in Britain, so she could learn to speak English better, etc? Maybe she'll come to Hogwarts and bewitch Snape and co
Hmm.. Viktor Krum could be a DATA teacher- or a broom flying teacher like Madam Hooch
Re: oh yeah...
I suspect there are schools in other places, too. I can imagine at least two in America, an Eastern and a Western, the eastern with refined manners, etc, and the western named after an Indian something and modeled like a dude ranch or something. *silly grin*

Hogsmeade, a place to meet and mingle with your fellow wizards
Re: oh yeah...
That would be interesting, Viktor teaching defense against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. Although, something tells me he'll be doing something involving broomstick flying and quidditch...
Is it just coincedence that the *Dark Arts* position is the one that is always deserted and then refilled with each new book? Or is there some deeper purpose?
I think that it's just because the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher just has so much to do with the book...that's why J.K. Rowling needs a new one for each book.
Re: oh yeah...
yeah..i agree..hmmm krum as teacher? er-- "Hermione caught making out with a Teacher! Long time flames, now sparks up, WHat will Dumbldore think of this?"--something like Witches Weekly..
why aren't there any other european schools?
I mean, if hogwarts was meant for wizard kids in britain, and beauxbatons for france, and the other one(forgot it's name) for all countries in eastern europe, than there wouldn't be any wizard schools in Spain,Italy, Belgium, the netherlands, Germany,... and wizards speaking german,dutch,italian,spanish,... wouldn't be abe to go to a non-muggle school! that can't be possible right?
(used to be Quam, but thought of a nicer, more Tolkien, name)
